Hi girls,
Im looking into being considered for a late space however, I work full time.
Do you have any ideas, advise or even lies to explain im waiting to be called into having surgery at short notice and having week off after? I have decided not to tell work xxx
Hi just wondering, do u know if u want a late space can you still choose your surgeon or is it who ever is available? Sorry I don’t have help for your q ha, I’m self employed part time so shouldn’t be much of an issue with me! Xx
Im not sure myself to be honest im sure it would be with your surgeon or chosen surgeons. .. question for me to ask lol thank u xxx
Ha ok, maybe you could say someone has booked a surprise break away for you last min?! X
Could you pretend to have appendicitis and have surgery to have it removed? You would have to research it but just an idea 😉 xxx
That’s a good idea lol.. Thanks hun xxxx
As long as a year or two down the line you don’t actually get appendicitis!! Maybe you could go to an aunt in Canada’s funeral lol
You can self certify yourself off sick for 7 days and get £86 for that week.. And always get a sicknote or add on holidays if you need longer.. Plus u don’t legally have to tell ur work why ur off.. X
Thats true but the sick note would state anyway and everyone will ask questions… such hard one may just tell them an take holiday xx
Well if u only need a week off u just self certify urself for 7 days.. And with the sicknote ur GP dosent have to state ”BA”.. If anyone asks questions just tell them its none of there business! X
Sounds silly. Never realised a planned op of my choice can classed as sick. Perfect hun ill do that an may take few days holiday or unpaid xxx
Well I’ve self certified myself for 7 days so it can be done!! They can’t ask any questions because u don’t legally have to tell them.. They don’t no anything about it and don’t need too x
True but also matter of wanting a early space. Could be called with 4 days notice. Just call in sick for 7 days then may do few days unpaid after if not feeling up to it… but I really feel a nice cover story about why im off would be good idea to keep them sweet, maybe pulled muscle in my back or chest trapped nerve an cant move hence why im little fragile when I go back to work xx
Whateva u thinks best 🙂 xx gd luck xx
I took holiday and when I went back told them I’d damaged my chest (which I had lol ) but said it was muscle, during the holiday. Best to stick to as near the truth as you can I think and then you don’t feel guilty blah blah
I had just started a new full time job babe I told them I needed surgery for a personal issue u don’t have to tell them wat it is by law plus they can’t ask I then got my doctors note which just said post op recovery and I get paid ssp !! Xxx
Thanks girlies, think I may book it as holiday but then I cant have a late space. Boooo. I want to take holiday to get full pay but then I need 2 weeks in advance … ill go with pulling a muscle lol xxx
Hey Hun I’m sure u can still do late space with 2 weeks in advance I went to my surgeons app on the 11th of dec and booked my surgery for the 30 th and got a really good discount 🙂 xxx
I want to book holiday so I get paid full but want late space discount can’t have it all I suppose! You take what comes up dont you. Was it a decent discount? Xxxx
Hey Emily how are you feeling? Do u mind me asking how Much u played in total with having a late space x
The late space discount is a must! You’re going to have to be as deceitful/creative a you can at work!!! Sorry that wasn’t really helpful!
Im crap at lying being creative lol… if enough time ill book holiday an get full pay otherwise be sick loose out on weeks pay an have a good excuse why ive had an op xx
Hey Sophie,
Have you actually researched late space Hun? I had my op back in August was late space you still get to choose the date of your op within the 3 week period and you still choose your surgeon and hospital most convenient only difference is you pay around a grand less! Hope this helps good luck x
