I cannot lift her at all. and I will try not to lift her for as long as I can. everything needs to heal properly, you dont want to waste all this money. my little one cannot understand why im not putting her to bed or taking her to nursery. bless her, she was in tears this morning didnt want to go without me, im very worried about next wk when I have to drive her to nursery. I dont know how to put her in her car seat? ill have to leave early and see if she can claim by herself. its not easy. from tomorrow ill be looking after her, ill be 1wk po. I get tired very quickly so not sure how its going to work. do u have a partner who can help?

Hi Stephanie, I am 6 days post op and I have a one year old too. I was so worried about this. I had my op on the Friday so my partner could do everything until the Monday when he went to work. I lucked after my son yesterday on my own cuss I don’t normally work Wednesdays, I was a little worried but he was so good, I just made sure I locked us in the lounge with loads of toys and my partner made a packed lunch and sorted nibbles before he went to work, his dad came round for 3 hours to check on us too. I couldn’t pick him up but he can get on the sofa himself.

I would just make sure you clean your house, prepare frozen dinners before your op and make sure someone puts drinks, cups and easy food at arm height before they go to work, my partner also got my son dressed for me every morning before he left. I can let you know how I feel next week. When us your op? Xx

    Hi Polina,

Yeah I’ve got to drive my little one to the childminders next week too, I’m lucky cuss I have a 10 year old and she will put him in and out the car for me. Maybe you could speak to the nursery and see if they will lift her out for you and least you just have to sort going there. You don’t need to tell them why, I just told my childminder I’ve had a little op. Xx

Same as above hun. I have a 18 month old and my partner does everything atm she is far to heavy to lift up, you need to let your incisions heal properly for at least 2-3 weeks after, have you got help? I did all my housework the day before I went in and now my partner just keeps on top of it for me. You wil be able to move around etc just do not over do it, and no heavy lifting. I am only 2 days po so early days for me but I am resting and so far so good. Add me if you like I have pics on so give you an idea of what to expect swelling etc. xxx

You will need full help for the first week defo, all depends on if your having unders or overs.. Unders are a harder long recovery, ppl with overs seem to be like superwoman on here back to work kids etc lol.. I had unders and have 4 children.. I was doing there hairs for School by day 7 and pottering on doing washing drying etc within reason.. My partner wouldn’t Realli let me do anything.. And I’ve done everything since day 12 full housework ironing the lot.. Onli thing I haven’t done is drive.. I’m too scared lol x
