I’ve noticed a few of you have mentioned wearing a sports bra on the way home after your surgery and what bra to take to your op. I had my surgery last Friday and I took my sports bra with me but the nurse told me not to wear it and wait until the strappings removed. Just wondered if this is right or is it just different for each patient depending on there implants?
that is strange, cause ive been told to wear it. I dont know why cause its not doing anythig at the moment, maybe it depends on the size of implants, I dont know 😉
I was told not to wear mine until my strappings taken off 🙂 x
That’s strange, maybe everyone’s different and it depends on there implants. I’ve just tried mine on and it’s to big, I feel really gutted about it and a bit stressed out! I hope my new one I’ve ordered comes tomorrow. Xx
i know its so annoying to hear and everyone says it, BUT, they are going to change so much! shape, size, texture everything!!!
So it may not fit now, but it may do in a few weeks or even months. try not to feel disheartened
I just avoided llooking at them the first week, because i knew they wouldnt look how i wanted them to but i love mine now and theyve gotten biggere and smaller and biggere again and probably have more changing to do still!
XX
Hi I didn’t wear mine for the first day then my patient co ordinator rung and said that it’s really important I put it on straight away as there could be a risk to the implant dropping otherwise so I’ve had mine over strapping all week :-/ xxx
I didn’t take any bra intact I still haven’t brought one at all, I had my op yesterday, I will buy a sports bra over the weekend ready to take clinic on Wednesday to get the strapping off. Xx
Thanks Scarlett, this has made me feel better, I’ve just all of a sudden gone from excitement to feeling stressed about it cuss I want to be a D cup. My surgeon originally told me to have 285 implants but we agreed to go to a 310. Xx
A30 I had 340 unders yesterday… I’ve put photos up feel free to add, I’ll add more when wrapping off next Wednesday… I will be a D to DD xx
I know that some surgeons don’t use strapping at all – Mr Traynor doesn’t – so maybe they’re the girls you’ve heard saying about wearing the bra on the way home from hospital! I never really understood why girls who have strapping have to wear their bra over the top of it, but I suppose it all just depends on your own personal experience. I’m sure you will have been told what to do correctly so don’t worry too much!! x
Now I’m a bit worried of I should’ve been wearing the sports bra, but I’m not sure I could with all this strapping?! It holds me in tight enough as it is x
@A30 hi hun! I had 325cc, I’m six weeks on Sunday but went to get measured today. In a normal bra I was measured 34DD and 34E in the sports bra I tried. I loved seeing them in a normal well fitted bra feeling really happy but the first few weeks I kept thinking I should have gone bigger! Yours will change so much as I’m sure mine still will too. I didn’t wear a sports bra after surgery as the strapping was enough it was so tight. Nurse told me not to worry about sports bra as it wouldn’t make any difference over the tight strapping anyway just be sure to have it ready for your PO appointment. X
Thanks Anna, i dunno what I’d do if I didn’t have all your ladies to chat to, makes me feel a lot better. Well I’ve order another bra and if I need to ill nip to asda for a cheap one. Xx
I rang my PC and she told me to wear it 24 hours a day 7 days a week over my strapping! It has made me feel so much more comfortable and compacted the swelling almost? It probably does depend on implant size, type of strapping. A30 your boobs are completely strapped up though so this may be why!! And it’s probably why your sports bra doesn’t fit yet xxxx
Hi Blaire, yeah a lot of my swelling has gone down now but I’ve been putting ice on my boobs and taking Arnica vitamins to reduce the swelling and healing. I’ve just tried on my shock absorber sports bra for when I return to the gym and that’s a 32 d and that fits. I’ve also been sent a breast stabiliser to help push them down so hopefully the sports bras not needed until tomorrow. Yeah I am tightly strapped up on my pics, can’t wait to get it off. Thanks all of you for making me feel better, think I was just having a bad few hours. Xx
