I’ve got my BA on Friday, having 345cc overs, and I am really worried about recovery time. I have two small children, one who is 8month old and needs carrying a lot! I have help for the first week but after that I’m on my own. Has anyone else had the same situation?? Or could give some advice about lifting after BA? Xxx
Hey, I had 325cc overs and had hardly any pain at all after, I’m 6 days post op and they do still ache a little but I’ve been walking around and doing stuff since day 1 (nothing strenuous though) but then everyone is different hun! Xx
I’m 6 days PO hun and I had unders. Yesturday was the first day I could give my son a proper cuddle without discomfort. I still can’t lift him up at all & I’m in same situation as you I’m on my own from Wednesday. Luckily my son is 2 so I don’t have to be constantly picking him up. I think with overs you heal a little more quickly but every woman heals differently so you may be quicker or longer unfortunately it’s just one of those things. Hope everything goes well babe 🙂 xxx
Hi Charlotte, which pain killers were you given, the reason I ask is that I am 3 days po and still feel really sore?? Also did u have full strapping? Im probably just a wimp!! But I have 2 little ones and need to be back to normal asap – Thanks for help
Hi Kelly- I was given Co-Dydramol but I haven’t had to take any for like 2-3 days! I think I may have been lucky as I only get very occasional pain and on a scale between one and ten I’d only say it was a 4-5! Things like shutting heavy doors or pushing myself up is still a bit hard and I haven’t tried lifting anything heavy if I’m honest. I didn’t have strapping just bandages and plasters and the bandages come off the following day. It’s normal to be sore still hun mine seemed to get worse on day 3 but soon settled again! Just rest as much as you can it will help you heal quicker! Xxx
It’s really strange isn’t it lol! They felt really tight and ached so much but like you say the next day they were fine! Got my check up tomo eek and I can’t wait to have a proper shower! Xxx
Hi I have 2 small children age 2 and 4 I had help for a week I’m now 12 days po and I can lift her if I need to but try not too, my surgeon said I would be ok to lift children but them said a 2 year old is prob a bit heavy, as long as ur not lifting above ur head u should be fine with an 8 month old x
