    Hi ladies,

I’m 4 weeks post op this Friday. I’ve been to the gym twice now and just started off with 20 mins on the spin bike. I’m gonna have ago at running this weekend and lifting very light weights on my legs. Can anyone out there who enjoys weight training and body weight exercises let me know how they felt when they returned to these kind of exercises and how long did it take before they could get back to lifting heavy again?? Xx

Hey ladies I’m over 3 mths post op and finding it hard to do press ups and heaves or any thing involving stretching the muscle. Running has been fine absolutely no prob would have started earlier but had slight prob with my stitches. Like any sport it’s like going back to basics and building it up again xx

Thanks Sarah, 3 months seems ages before doing press up and pulls ups but I suppose it’s just starting off slowly. So far I’ve been really lucky with my stitches cuss they are really neat and seem to have healed quiet well. I’ll give running ago over the weekend first. Hope your fitness test went well? Xx

Is it ok to do all this exercise at 4 weeks? They advised 6 weeks don’t they?
I am 4 weeks post op next week, I was going to just start off going on walks & then maybe in week 5 go the gym but just do leg stuff like the bike & walking etc :-/ eeekkk am getting so fat 🙁 xxx

I had mine over the muscle and to be honest I havnt struggled with bench or anything like that atall. I made sure I waited 5 weeks before I went back to training weights but I was running and doing cardio after 4 weeks with 2 sports bras on!

It feels so weird for a short while and then you get used to them completely… I am 8 Months Post Op now xxxx

I can imagine if you are having partials or under the muscle it may be more of a problem xxx

I wouldnt suggest going against the Dr’s orders mainly because its an expensive mistake to make! The 6 weeks gap in training wont suddenly make a difference to your shape.
I am at the gym daily (pre and post op) I started doing light cardio at 5 weeks and I started training with weights at the 6 week mark – 2 bras at all times
I had my ba at the end of November and its a bit sore to do upper ab exercises…..
    Any questions, just ask!

Hi Kathryn – it’s good to hear you were back with weights by the six week mark. Are there any weight exercises you have to avoid such as chest reps etc? My op is a week today and know I’m going to miss the gym but know I have to be patient. Xx

Thanks all ladies. Hope you don’t mind the adds? I didn’t go through Mya so my aftercare was probably different but my surgeon gave me the ok at 3-4 weeks. I’m gonna kind of almost drop my chest press exercise for a while but really need to carry on with pull ups and press ups, I’ll probably give them a few more weeks. I’m gonna try running tomorrow with legs and do lower body workouts next week then try light upper body the week after. Xx

Sorry! I didn’t see the replies!
I have gone light on things like the chest press etc as it’s not too comfortable yet.
Luckily my trainer is one of my family members so he knows the situation….
Any other questions just ask xxxxxx
