Post op rhinoplasty – more swelling ?! Started by: tea

    Hey guys
    I’m 8 days post op and I’m more visibly swollen now than before.
    I can get a tiny bit of air through which should mean the swelling is going down but the too actually looks like my old nose- very bulbous!?
    Anybody know what’s going on?
    Ps had my stitches out yesterday (paaaainfil omg) but cast on for another week yet

    My tip still looks tiny and up and pointy :-(. It will be swelling hun. I’ve been taking Bromelaine – it’s really helped with the swelling. Have you cleaned up your nose yet? xxx

    Yeah, after plenty of cleaning! And I also used otrivine spray as I was sooooo blocked – mr g said I could – it helps loads. Use it once in the morning as I’m always completely blocked first thing and it lasts all day xxx
    God, I hope what you say about the tip is rightx

    Mine has swollen width ways – pressure on the cast, and it’s lifted the cast up off my face (all the tape is up too) – hope it won;t be a fat nose! Argh xxx

    I have that spray and a saline rinse but the nurses (and another Mya surgeon) told me not to use it! That’s no fair 🙁
    I worried babe cause mine looked too small to begin with too, it somehow feels scarier being too small… I’m swollen as a dumpling now though so I can’t win.
    Gotta keep a grip till I get the cast off.
    When is yours off?

    Has anyone had a kinda bad smell inside their nose, I can barely smell but I can smell that… :s

    Tuesday, gotta keep a grip too. Mine looks a but wonky – nostrils are different (bigger on the side where the cast has popped up), but again trying to stay positive. One minute I’m worried it’s gonna be flat, next wonky, next piggy, next wonkey AND flat!!! Noo one tells you how emotional this is 🙁 xxx

    Hahahaha I just said that to my friend. One minute I’m positive, next worried, it soooo draining.
    Smh I’m so worried about infectoon I’ll probably develop OCD. Lol
    My nostrils are different sizes too..

    I’m so tempted to change the bandage that holds that cast on place, it’s lifting like yours too. Mine actually has blood in it, it’s ******* disgusting. 🙁

    I know, mines bloodstained too. My 5 year old has just whacked me on the nose……ouch!!! xx

    So nasty!
    I’ve seen what look likes a minute cauliflower stuck to one nostril wall, tried getting it out but if wasn’t having any of it.
    I just want to brrrrrrreeeeeeeathe!

    I’ve got that too, don;t touch, it might be your septum wall/scar tissue – mine is. This rhino has been horrendous. BA was a doddle, no pain ever and back in work on day 3. This is emotional and physical torture x
