    So I’m 11 days post op, sleeping is becoming a real issue for me now. No matter how tired I am I get about 2-3 hours sleep every night and its starting to bug me. How long until ill be able to sleep comfortably eg on my side? I don’t get pain as such just a strange numb feeling. Xxx

    Sleeping upright is only to help swelling post op. Most say 7-10 days is enough, then most surgeons would prefer patients to get a good nights sleep which will aid recovery much faster. I was on my side after 5 days as my ass just hurt so much and I wasn;t sleeping. Don’t sleep on your front yet. Try this site for more advice (from Doctors):

    Thanks hun, I’m back to work on Monday so I don’t want to be zombified on my first day haha I need my sleep! My bum is really sore too, I’m going to try sleep on my side tonight it just worries me I don’t want to do any damage! Xxx

    I’m the same girls I had my ba on the 11th and I’m really struggling sleeping. I have slept upright for the past couple of nights and it’s killing my back 🙁 so I was going to ask if is ok to sleep on my side again. I just want a good nights sleep. Will it affect my boobs in anyway. ? Thanks xxxxx

    Hiya, I slept on back on day 6 after I had had my strapping off but with 4 pillows under my head and lay like a pencil with a pillow either side of my boobs so I didn’t roll over or knock them and slept right threw which was heaven compared to the sleepless nights and numb bum! As soon as you can sit up without it hurting I would sleep on your back with quite a few pillows under your head I still sleep with 4 now and can’t lean on my side yet let alone sleep on it but flat on your back is comfy compared to sitting up xxxx

    Hey girls I started sleeping on my side at 3 weeks, my boobs are still sore though!
    I guess everyone and their recovery is different, just do what feels comfortable and listen to your body 🙂 xxx

    I have been sleeping on my side after a week PO I am now nearly 4 weeks and am fine no pain nothing just some swelling on one scar still but had that since day 1 x

    Thanks girls, I tried sleeping on my side last night for the first time but it felt so odd not painful just uncomfortable so ended up flat on my back, had a much better sleep than usual so I’m happy! Xxx
