    Hi girls!

Okie last week I got refused for surgery by my own gp and after trying and trying for an explaination and getting nowhere, I’ve made an appointment with another doctor on Friday!
Any tips as to what I should say to him to make him agree and confirm to my surgery?!
I have no medical issue – I think my gp refused me on opinion!!! :@

    Hey lovely

Did he just give absolutely no reason for it at all? How’s your weight? Sometimes they say no if you’re underweight. Also if you’ve had any mental health issues it can cause a problem.

Hope the new doctor gives you some answers and helps xxxx

No reason what so ever! My bmi is slightly low but bmi doesn’t mean a lot. I eat like a pig but I’m just healthy! Nope no mental issues – nothing 😐

I’m hoping my new doc will understand and accept it! 🙂

Hmm how low? If it’s under 18 I think they consider it dangerous to have surgery.
Yeah I hope you get it sorted hun good luck xxxx

Usually you dont even have to ask your gps permission. The surgeons know what they are doing and give u all the health checks etc anyway xx

    Hi Lilith Rose,
I went to my GP – different GPs have different opinions, one put it down to the media, the other completely understood how I felt. See another GP.
I gave them the truth – that I’d always been flat, that I’ve been bullied for it A LOT (by kids at school, by family memebers,ex- boyfriend etc), that I went up to a D cup in both my pregnancies, and that now I have no cup size so it makes buying clothes/underwear difficult and expensive (AAA cup = £35 bras, no thanks!) and that it’s affecting my confidence, my happiness and my intimacy with my husband. She referred me, I’m now on a waiting list and she recommended that I see a councillor to help me get through the psychological affects of a drastic body change.
Really put the emphasis on what this would mean to you – how you feel it’d change your life in terms of feeling feminine, confident and generally better within yourself.
It’s your body, you should be able to make choices about it without someone else’s permission. I’d understand if you had medical issues, or if you were under 18 because you would still have time to develop. The first GP I saw said as I put weight on I might get bigger boobs, and since I have put (a little bit of) weight on and there’s zero change to my chest!
    Good luck x

yeh id say try to emphasise how it makes you feel and if youre unconfident and self conscious etc – say you don’t want massive boobs, you just want boobs like everyone else x

Yeah I said I didn’t want a massive fake looking chest, I just wanted to look like a woman and to feel feminine, it’s difficult to feel feminine with a tiny chest (and that’s regardless of any media). Tell them it’s really affecting your life, and you want to feel good about yourself. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. I know for me, because I’ve wanted this for so long, that even after surgery I’ll still not feel good, I need to learn how to be ok with myself. It’s not fair that your GP would disregard you, because it could seriously affect your life.
I know for me it’s stopped me pursuing certain dreams, and it really has affected my relationship with my husband in certain ways.
Your GP should give their support because you feel this surgery would benefit you.

Hopefully you can explain to your doctor why you want it, and they will change there mind! x
