    Hi ladies

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here but was looking for some advice. It’s been a year and a half since I had my BA but this past week or so I’ve noticed some things that I’m slightly worried about.

For the past few days I’ve thought I was coming down with flu (achey all over, feeling tired and run down etc) so was expecting to get poorly, but this kept coming and going. Then last night I felt the same again, achey all over and sweaty, but noticed my boobs were incredibly tender too and really sore to touch. I put this down to maybe coming down with flu, but this morning I woke up and my left breast is really swollen, hard and sore. It also feels really itchy inside, which I have had with my right breast before but never the left.

I was therefore wondering if anyone had experienced the same, and whether there’s any chance of infection this far post op? I wouldn’t normally worry but it’s just odd how the flu like symptoms keep coming and going and have coincided with one of my breasts swelling up (which had never happened before).

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks
    Gemma

Hey I think.it’s less likely an infection but may possibly be early signs of CC but hey I’m not no medical expert I would definitely get that checked by your surgeon as you’ve mentioned hardening and sudden changes to the breasts.
    Goodluck and don’t.worry yourself x

Not to freak you out hun but is there any chance you could be pregnant? Flu like symptoms and tender breasts are early signs of pregnancy. it would be best to see your doctor as they may be able to help even if you’re not pregnant, they know infections better than any of us xx

It’s highly unlikely you would get an infection in the breast pocket this long after surgery but you’re better off to get checked out just in case. I would say it’s likely you are coming down with something and the breast tenderness is a side affect of this, flu, viruses, other infections, monthly cycle or pregnancy could all be causes. x

Thanks all. I will definitely get it checked out, was just keen to see if anyone had experienced anything similar.

I can probably rule out pregnancy as I’m actually on my period. I would say the swollen breast could be down to that, except for the fact that I have never once experienced swollen breasts whilst on my period, and my left breast is visibly swollen but the right one isn’t. That coupled with the flu like symptoms (especially last night when my whole body was aching) has just made me worry it’s infection related – whether that’s to do with my boobs or not is a different matter but I will hopefully find out!

Bare in mind hun you can still have periods while you’re pregnant. Probably best to see a doc as they will help xx
