ALL DONE – MY STORY Started by: sophiemarie

Hi girls!

Had my BA yesterday with mr fraiti.
My admission time was 13.00, I got there about 12.30 and filled out my forms n then was showed to my room.
There was was shown around by Ula and introduced to my nurse etc called June. Ula told me mr fraiti is running a bit behind but he is a perfectionist and spends about hr and a half on each one (so I can’t complain)
My blood pressure was taken and history and urine tested and then we waited….and waited….and waited….
Finally Mr fraiti came in and drew on me and spoke about sizes and said he will be down for me about 1.5 hrs time, the anaesthetist then came in a consented me to the procedure and checked my allergies etc.
I didnt get called down until gone 4pm at which point I was so starving lol!
My nan and ain’t walked me to the theatre door and my nan got teary which then made me and my aunt well up haha!
I was sat in the operating table in the anaesthetic room having a chat and I was so worried I was asking if the intubator (tube that goes down your throat) is easy to get in. N that my mum had told me to tell them if there is any issues just to bring me out of the op n forget about the boobs haha!!

The anaesthetist done the cannula which wernt toooooo bad :-S (was really panicking about that)
And he sed ill have a dead arm and funny taste in my mouth, and then sed good night see u wen u wake up. He could see I was terrified and he sed don’t worry your in safe hands we won’t let nothing happen to you.
They r really nice.
Just before he put me to sleep I wanted to say “no I don’t wanna do this, stop” but I thought to myself shut up in a minute I will be asleep and it’ll b too late haha!
Next thing I new I was back in recovery about 17.00 and in quite a bit of pain, they gave me a tramadol injection, and taking my blood pressure a lot and I remember I kept checking my bp as it was high (force of habit because I’m a midwife haha)

Then about 17.20 I got taken back to my room.
I felt ok but had backache, so my nurse n ain’t helped my use my v pillow (GOD SEND!!)
Which eased it.
My left boob didn’t really hurt although I cudnt sit up by myself, my right boob felt like something was digging me from inside.
(I had drains) so I think it was that. I had to ask for more pain relief due to this.

I tried to sleep but as I was drifting off the nurse would come in, but my mind was Duin overtime and singing to itself so cudnt sleep much anyway I don’t think haha!!

I had dinner about 19.30 Cajun chicken veg and mash, fanned Merlin and pancetta and white choc and raspberry brûlée cheesecake!
Sooooo yummy.
You family can have as many teas n drinks as they want for free and for small price have dinner too.
The nurse wanted to check my bp coz was slightly raised but it had come down (this point they had handed over to the night staff)
My fraiti came in to see me and sed all was well.
Apparently he hasn’t seen anyone else coz he was so busy so I was the lucky one he came to see hehe!

My drains were removed by the nurse and I am telling u it bloody hurt!!
My right one that felt like the drain was twisted inside was digging me and she was pulling it and it was very hard to come out n then jolted (prob where was twisted) which hurt so bad!
Felt like my boob popped and then my muscles felt like it tensed up.
The left one was slightly painful but came easier and Wernt half as bad.

I then got helped out of bed for the first time very dizzy b drunk, dun a massive pee haha and got ready to come home. Sophie came in to see me because I was still woozy and we chatted for ages. Like we were best mates haha!

Then drove home, felt sick wen I got in but I didnt throw up. Then slept on the sofa recliner.

Been using ice packs as fraiti asked me too. And it really helps.

Sorry for the long story but I no other girls detailed stories helped me loads.
