Anyone massaged scars/ incisions b4 6 weeks. Started by: Nicole

    Desperate to help my incisions heal…they are so lumpy. Uploaded some more pics yesterday and though they are improving they are just so wrinkling and lumpy.

    Massage helps scars but did anyone do it before six weeks? Desperate to run something in to aid healing.. Other ops I had you could do that b4 six weeks ….

    Any opinions from post op friends who’s scars looked similiar to mine be appreciated.

    I’m not sure about the time scales as I’m still preop, but superdrug have palmer’s skin therapy on half price atm so worth picking that up for when you can, does scars, stretchmarks, the lot and i’ve seen some great reviews 🙂 thought it would be handy for when the time comes!

    you cant do anything before 6 weeks, as soon as you see your surgeon and he confirms you can then get oiling them, I used Mederma gel which was good but now I just oil them xx

    Thanks girls…just wondered if I could massage them and not put anything on yet to try and smooth scar tissue out? But I’ll look out that cream and gel cause your scars are invisible Rinx! X

    I.haven’t used nothing on my incisions but that’s down to them naturally fading into thin line ( lucky me) but I did have lumpyNess early stages and they should smoothen out with time, with ointments on scars you can’t put anything on or near the area for 6 weeks and only after being checked depending on your progress with healing your nurse/ surgeon will be able to advise you to go ahead and putting ointment on them. Bio oil is good or mederma gel as mentioned by rinx or cocobutter somethin which is high in vitams E and K xx
