Hey, I’m just up to take my cocodamol but I’ve had quite a few hours, had my op yesterday… I’ve got six pillows for my back and under my knees one v pillow, two cushions for under my arms a throw for the back of the bed which is sort of keeping them in place and a throw to put over my chest and shoulders for my head to lean on pretty much surrounded by them and I don’t think I could have got any sleep without all that, hope that helps and you manage to get some sleep xxx

Im using six large pillows four are memory foam which feel a million times better than normal ss they give alot more support which is paramount when sleeping in such a unnatural position. Give them a go, ive had more than one op and they are by far the best. Mine cost a tenner eash, even two would help just make sure theyre on top and the ones you lay on. Hope this helps x

Thank you so much, ladies. It’s so helpful to hear and compare how you’re getting on. I emailed my PC in the early hours of this morning and she replied first thing (Sacha at Leeds is awesomeness itself) saying that we don’t strictly have to sleep sat up, although some girls prefer it; we just need to make sure we at least stay on our backs. The nurse has just rung and reiterated that, too. Such a relief. I can do back sleeping- I’ve had two pregnancies-worth of practice. Yay!! Tonight will feel like bliss. xx
