this probs gets asked all the time?
but my op is coming up and really wanna know what goes on so i’m a bit more prepared for it, i’m at Preston on 13th… so nervous/excited & a million over emotions. Any advice would be great and what they ask/do. do they take iron levels? etc .thanks xx

I don’t think you will have iron levels tested I didn’t have any bloods taken.
Take plenty of things to occupy you I had a four hour wait from my admission time and all I had was my phone( with my phone charger at the hotel which was really stupid!)
You get seen by the nurse, then the ward doctor, then the anaesthetist and then the surgeon. Once the surgeon has seen and drawn on you it will be nearly time to go down and then before you know it you will have your new boobs! Hope this helps xx

Thanks a lot, ye i will be taking loads with me and thankfully i’m only about 40 mins away so don’t have to stay in a hotel…do they not do any bloods/tests then? and oh right, just read somewhere online that you have to have high enough iron to have op or they wouldn’t do it lol so was worrying cause i have low iron or did last time and every over time its been checked it been really low xx

Well I had mine at Preston and never had bloods taken they just did my obs to check blood pressure. That’s handy that you live close I would’ve done anything to be in my own bed the first night I didn’t sleep at all! Xx

Girls afraid of the needle ask for a cream called ‘Emla’
It’s a numbing cream – ask in advance and nurse can put it on both hands.
    Worked a treat for me

Hi I had my bloods taken at pre op but this is because I was anemic during pregnancy and needed a blood transfusion after giving birth . I find it so strange how all the different clinics / hospitals operate Considering the same company . I’m sure will be ok if ur worried maybe give them a call as they get there bloods back really quick xx

Ye I think I will be okay, I was anaemic too and still have low iron so have been eating a lot of red meat and spinach to try up it a bit just to be safe ! Thanks for reply… Xx
