Hi emma, bit of a silly question but was it a BA you had? Only I thought the stitches were dissolvable and wasn’t aware their would be so many follow up appointments. I’m having BA on Fri and have only been booked in for 1 post op atm x. Hope you are healing well other than this xx

Hi Laura , yes it was ba I had with mr traynor 460 overs xx think again it varies from surgeon to surgeon re stitches etc . I was only booked in for one after appointment too a week after surgery x that was to change my dressings as I had no strapping x then I had to go this week for the stitches to be trimmed just the ends as they are dissolvable xback again on 3rd June x that will be my six week check xxxwhen at 12 weeks I will see mr traynor xx

Awh sorry to hear that Emma..hope you feel better. I had dissolvable stitches and no trimming…I just need to go back after 6 weeks. My strappings came off at 1 week post op and had nothing on stitches but was advised I can shower at 2 week post op but have to make sure I pat the incisions dry before putting sports bra back on. It was worrying me too but I tried showering as quick as possible and patted them dry as soon as poss. Also washed my hair first to avoid any shampoo going over them. Not sure if that helps but first time was scary for me too! Where did she trim stitches from if you don’t mind me asking?

It wasn’t the trimming ladies that was the problem x I was just upset with what happened today that’s all xx hi zena , they trim them at each end of the incision where they were left long it doesn’t hurt at all xx in fact my nipples are in a worse state due to the dryness and soreness but hopefully that will settle in a few days now I’ve sorted that out for myself with my cracked nipple cream and breast pads lol xxx thanks for the shower info xxx

lansinoh is the best nipple cream! I can only speak from a breast feeding perspective but it worked a treat for me then so i’ll be using that should i need to. 🙂 x
