incision pain – anyone else experienced this? Started by: vicky

    I’m 6 days post op and just had my nurse as appointment where she removed my strapping because I was having pain under my left boob along the incision line. The nurse said it looked a little raised and red and she thought it may be the stitches inside causing irritation. I have to go back next week for a check up. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this. Also I had some Steri strips reapplied to my areola as it hadn’t quite knitted back. It’s so nice having the strapping off but I’m getting paranoid about every little niggle I get. Is it normal to have the occasional shooting pain?

    Yes, I was in exactly the same position as you! I had shooting pains through my incisions around the same time as you (day 6) One side hadn’t healed as well and knitted together so I has Steri strips put back over the incisors and went back the following week! Just think of it as you’ll definitely be ok to have showers and things having that extra healing time. It gets loads better Hun don’t panic. The shooting pains lasted till about day 12ish then stopped! Xxx

    I was the same too, I’m 4 weeks post op now, my pain started to ease after 2 weeks, I’d had a massive reaction to the strapping, plasters they used after op. When they were removed over that days things got better as the inflammation went down. Xxx
