Hi girls! im still saving towards my breast implants (looking to get them done this September! 🙂 ) just wanted to know how long did you guys take to recover from surgery! ive booked 13 days leave from work , will this be enough rest time? i work in a gym reception, and sometimes need to tidy the gym, will it be ok?
a friend of mine also was very sick for a few days due to the anaesthesia, did this happened to any of you?
have a super day!
Andreia
Hey Hun I was sick when I came round and fainted the day after due to low blood pressure as I got up quickly the next day but I’m ok now and pottering around the house managing to cook basic things and wash pots etc and I’m now 3 days post op I think I would get bored if I didn’t do anything although I was a heavy gym gore before which I think helps xx
Hiya I found it all ok they gave me anti sickness I wasn’t sick I was in pain the 1st 2 days but I’ve being ok to be honest .
I’ve cooked easy dinners today my 1st day woth baby and I managed to walk up school with buggy and drive locally I’m 5 days post op xx
I had my op yesterday, I had no issues with the GA at all – as soon as I came round properly (which took around an hour) I was sooo hungry. Haven’t had any issues with sickness yet *touch wood* was just a little dizzy getting back on my feet going to the toilet and leaving the hospital. I did buy some anti sickness medication before surgery just in case though. xx
Hey Andreia, I’m having mine done in September.. The only thing as of now that is worrying me about the whole procedure is the being put under general anaesthesia! I’ve been put under before about 10 years ago and was only very young then so don’t remember too much, I don’t think I had any problems though. However I’m scared to death of the thought of being put to sleep or coming round from it and being sick as I’ve a phobia of being sick haha. I’ve booked 2 weeks off of work so hopefully this will be enough time. xx
Hi Jessica, I also have a phobia of being sick!!! That and spiders but not too worried about a spider being present on the day of my op!! I did mention my worry to the nurse when I had my pre op and she said I should tell the anaesthetist (not sure that’s spelt correctly) so they are aware and they make sure they give you the anti sickness tabs.. Might be worth baring in mind when you go too. Xx
I was absolutely fine when I had mine on Friday. No side effects whatsoever. It was actually very enjoyable!
@nayma86 @jessicaloui i have a huge phobia of sick they had to give me this red band to wear with ‘severe phobia of vomiting’ on it so everyone knew and i got given loooads of anti sickness to stop me being sick so i wasn’t sick at all on the day or few days after with the GA, its worth asking about anti sickness 🙂 not sure if its a normal thing they do or if you ask for it. the worst part is standing up after you’ve come round, i felt so dizzy and funny headed so make sure you do everything really really really slowly and don’t move your head, i found this helped alot when i got up to walk round! also i booked a week off work but had to take an extra week off sick due to the pain and the meds which made me poorly xx
@mikky read my above comment about the anti sickness 🙂 it’s best to ask for the anti sickness as an injection or through the cannula as it gets into your body so much quicker and its very strong compared to the tablets! i take anti sickness tablets everyday, have been doing for the past god knows how many years and i find they’re not as effective as it was through the cannula 🙂 xx
Oh wow. Thank you so much Amy.. This is the major thing that I am worried about!! Probably sounds ridiculous to some people but not to us!! I’m going to ask about this when i go for sure.. I actually have 5 children and and so paranoid when they say they feel ill!! I also work in a secondary school and as soon as the kids come to medical, and given a sick bag I am found cowering behind my computer!! I actually had a student vomit in my bin, and I went into melt down mode in front of the Head!!!!!! He though it was hilarious but believe me, I did not! Thank you for your advic
Whoops. That uploaded before I planned. I meant to say thank you for your advice, means a lot. Xx
@mikky i know how you feel, its ruined my life. i didn’t leave my house for months at one point when this whole norovirus and swine flu came about and it was big on the news, had to have counselling and saw a psychologist. it’s absolutely awful, all i get from people is “well nobody likes being sick”… no, it’s not that i don’t like it.. its a phobia! well done to you for having kids and working in a school, i’m never ever having kids and won’t ever go near schools again now i’ve left haha. oh my god, i hope you made them clean the bin themselves, thats awful.. bleh! its turned me into a complete germ freak, constantly washing my hands or using hand gel while i’m out. we sound pathetic but its not! definitely make sure you get given anti sickness as much as they can give you it 🙂 i took my usual tablet before my op, i then had some put in my cannula throughout the op and then got given it afterwards, they’re supposed to wait 6 hours before they can give you it again but i demanded it :p went into a breakdown cos i started to feel abit queasy.. not sure if i actually did feel sick at that point or if i was just getting myself worked up about it and putting it into my head, who knows lol! xx
@Amy I actually made the girl take the bin round to the main bins and the premises guy had to com and clean up… I actually couldn’t get out of my office as it was near to the door!!! I was also lucky to never have morning sickness when I was pregnant, mad I have had 3 sections but with spinal blocks and was ok with all that too! I was offered cut to help me but I never ever too it up… It hasn’t hindered my life in the way it has for you but it is a real problem and you’re right, people don’t understand because it is part of life.. Do you know when yours started? God, forget boobies, we have even bigger fish to fry!!! Loool. X
My worst fear was being sick xx as I thought it would be agony xx just so you know I was sick for nine months when pregnant with my daughter only day I wasn’t sick was the day I had her x fortunately had no reaction to anaesthetic wide awake afterwards and felt fine but everyone is different xx was sick 2 weeks later but I think alcohol played a part in that was not ready lolxx
Thanks girls, I will definitely bare this is mind.. I saw a post on here from a girl who had twilight anaesthesia! I didn’t know if this would be an option after previously reading about it but I think I might ask about it. I mean I should be ok, I’ve had sleepless nights thinking about it (being put under GA) but Ive thought about it that much and now just think sod it but on the day I dread to think what I will be like! xx
Hey hun, I had it fairly easy with mine but it does vary from person to person and some people can be very sick afterwards. I was fine on the day just up and about as normal, just a bit achey but on day three I was sick.. This could have been from anything though.. Antibiotics, cocodamol or anaesthetic. 13 days should be fine as i was okay after I think about 10 days just be careful lifting and moving too much you still need to take it easy, also be aware you might want to take a bit more time depending on how you feel xxx
I don’t know if the surgeon you’re going with offers it, but Mr Kazzazi at Leeds does sedation with local anesthetic because it has a quicker recovery time and far less side effects to general. My op’s in 3 days now so I’ll know then if it really is any better haha xx
Oh yeah I remember him saying that now.. Let me know how you go on anyway xx
thanks for the reply! 😀 have a super day!! xxx
Hi jessica! thanks for your reply! ive got 2 weeks off booked too. im super excited but at the same time a bit worried of any side effect of GA lol but i like to keep positeve! we will be ok and look hot!! hahahaha cant wait! its gonna boost my confidence big time. have a super day!!! xxxx
