ok… i’m 2 weeks 1 day post op… i’ve felt pretty much fine but been taking it VERY easy since my op with pretty much only walking about to go shopping… Well apart from looking at my boobs in the mirror lol i’ve not really looked at the rest of my body in the mirror recently… i’ve deffo put weight on (which i knew i would) as although i never did excessive exercise… i did exercise pre-op plus swimming and was always up on my feet… i’m not too fussed on the weight but i’m also losing my bum too! it’s nowhere near as firm like i can ‘wobble’ it as are my legs less form… what can i do that won’t hurt my boobs?? is there anything i can do?.. i’m gonna take up walking to get me on my feet a bit more… but is there anything else i can do in the mean time? really don’t want a flabby bum & if i do lose it, once i go back to gym i should get it back right? xx
I personally think no there isn’t anything atm that you can do without harming your boobies even if you feel fine they are not haha! I can only suggest going for long walks, when I was 4-5 weeks I brought a exercise bike and went on that as it wasn’t doing anything to my top half xx
heheh just re-read that i sound like a right loon @rinaule haha… and arh it’s very annoying its like i’m happy with my boobs now and now am not happy with my bum! i was thinking i might do the same about the exercise bike maybe not just yet, will just stick to long walks atm…i have a really bad diet too and usually can get away with it but with doing practically nothing it’s piling on… probs best to change my diet over next few weeks might keep the flabby bum at bay ha xx
I’m thinking I might do the exercise bike lightly at the gym post op… No idea how I will feel yet so I might not be able to, but logically it seems like a good one to do as there is no bouncing about?! x
with the meals I can suggest eating cabbage/lettuce with chicken, boiled eggs, beetroot, cucumber, tomatoes and I always add abit of cheese and salad cream, wont do you no harm, and just sticking to 3 meals a day no snacking, its helped me loads, plus you are only 2 weeks so you will be swollen still around the tummy area it wil go down soon xxx
I’m 3wks post op and asked my nurse about leg raises for my stomach but she said no, got to wait 6 wks. Going to try the exercise bike though, just gently . My boobs aren’t big so won’t move
Exercise gently for first month xx I just walked a lot
I’m the same .. the last thing I want is a flabby bum!! I’ve been doing squats since 2 days post op. Also doing lunges, forward, back and lateral. Not too many just enough to feel like I’ve done something. Mr Traynor told me I could walk as far as I wanted from as soon as I felt able but still feel a bit sore after a short walk so not quite there yet xx
Yea just gonna have to cut back on takeaways, chocolate and crisps arghh… lisa i did a couple of squats before posting this but think they say do nothing at all like julieg says, did your nurse say it’s okay as it’s lower body? see such different advice….but do think am gonna have to stay lazy lol and get a flabby bum for a couple more weeks… am deffo going back to gym at 4 weeks but just gonna do really light x
I think your ok to do light exercise at 4 weeks so squats and light jogging but do double check xx
yes i’ve seen a few girls on here back at gym at 3-4 weeks .. will deffo double check just in case though… mind says go but body needs to recover, seems such a long recovery be glad to be back to normal xx
Ive been walking but not done anything else. Im 7.5 weeks and I am going back to gym on sunday, I cant waot to get back into shape.
awe laura i bet! It’s doing my head in already, I’ve got so dam lazy xx
I’m worried about the flab hitting too. I exercise everyday, mainly as it helps me cope with stress and I think I’m gonna go crazy without doing cardio. I’m gonna try light squats after a week, I’ll be itching to get back on the treadmill! Xx
