Girls I went to the clinic for an emergency appointment because I noticed a tiny bit of blood on my dressing. When the Nurse took the dressing down she said it looked a little wet …I couldn’t tell but she swabbed it and put iodine on it. I got rly upset and started crying and panicking she said it’s not unusual to look a little wet and the swab might not show anything, but it’s better to check. Iv been so bloody careful and I was just wondering if anyone else has had a swab for a little fluid around the incision around the nipple?

One of my scars was wet and had been bleeding. I didnt get checked as wasnt actively and it sorted itself.

Dont worry its normal to feel upset, at least uv been seen.

Oh really? When was that ? I’m two weeks PO and it’s so painful it’s not warm to touch amd I don’t feel unwell.. It’s just so upsetting everything else has gone so well and I just feel so frightened about what’s to come now. Thanks for your reply xx

A little bit of blood is most likley nothing to worry about!! Neither is looking a bit wet! Seriously. Dont worry about things that might not happy. Add me and look at my infection. Yu’ll feel better about yourself lol You’ll be fine 🙂 x

Mine started as raw looking holes that were greenish around the edges!! I’ve had 2 lots of swabs now. second came back clear! My pics show the infection at its worst. Pretty nasty. 8 weeks on now and its clearing up. Still raw looking wounds but pink. I do bleed still though! I bleed through my dressings quite a bit but the nurse and head nurse said thats good? It just means i do have good blood flow to the area and its healthy. Doesn’t mean i dont freak out slightly when i see im still bleeding though haha x

I’m very pleased that it’s come back clear, yeah you wanna see a pink wound it means that there are fresh epithelial cells amd fresh blood means that the wound has good circulation and is at the rejuvenation stage. I have done a lot of wound care during my nurse training but I tell you when it’s happening to you it’s so scary! I think this whole experience from start to finish is going to make me a better nurse! Thank you for sharing I really appreciate your comments my love, let me know how it all goes xx
