I’ve booked my pre-op consultation on the first weekend of July and was just wondering if there’s anything I need to do beforehand or anything I need to take along. Patient co-ordinator has been great but not in touch as much now I’ve paid the deposit for the bed. I remember them mentioning a letter from the doctor in my original appointment. Can anyone give me any more details?

    Thank you!!

You will need your NHS number, didnt need a letter from doctor they send one and u sign it on the pre op day, they take photos of you boobs so dont fake tan badly like i did. And you go through your information you filled in on your first appt about family history etc xx

I didn’t take anything with me, just myself. Asked medical history, told me that they would request copies of my medical files from the doctors and that some gps charge for that, if mine did I would have to pay the fee. Took photos, blood pressure, and swabs from nose and armpit for mrsa. Some surgeons also ask to have your bloods taken, luckily mine didn’t as my veins collapse every time I have my bloods taken haha. Hope this helps xx

Thanks everyone – looking forward to it but nervous too. I’ll make sure I take my NHS number. Can’t believe some gp’s charge, what a joke! Has anyone been charged? How much was it?

    Good luck Danielle!
