I am 4 weeks and feel 100% back to myself … The nurse told me no exercise until 6 weeks but I was wondering when all you ladies started going back to the gym? I probably won’t do weights for a while but I need to start running or something I am piling on the pounds
    Xx

I’m going to start back on Monday… Just the bike and leg work !
I’ll be 3 week post op on tues!! Felt quite down the last few days in terms of being really bloated in my tummy… Not getting any better, I have always drank between 1 and a half 2 litres every day religiously. I drink herbal tea Lemon and ginger etc, nothing is helping me.. I spoke to one of my clients today, who was a pharmasist and was told to take peppermint capsules as it’s really good, took sennacot for 7 days straight after surgery and that didn’t ease that side of things… So still bunged up that way too !! But on the plus side I really can’t thank Mr Traynor enough for his work… He has made me feel so much better about myself

Hey Hun! My ops next Friday and I’m dreading not going to be able to gym it. I got told by my local doc that if you feel all good after around3/4 weeks there is no harm in sitting on a bike or going to spin classes just not upper body just incase xx

My doctor told me to wait for 5 weeks but I waited for 6 before I went back to doing my daily treadmill routine. It’s better not take the risk than be sorry 🙂

Not being able to exercise is driving me crazy too! I used to do cycling at gym quite regularly and I’m almost 2 weeks po now, really hope I could go back 3 weeks po. Feeling so bloated and miss the feeling after a good exercise session.

Ladies why not wait 6weeks till ur given the ok? We are recommend to wait 6weeks for a reason, we’ve all spent a lot of time and money on our ops is it really worth risking something happening for the sake of an hour at the gym? X

Glad I have just read this one. I am 3 weeks post op and planning on going to the gym tonight. Going to start off with walking on the treadmill and hopefully back to my usual next week. Going to do leg weights too. Then start my normal Pilates butt and leg work tomorrow, but do the routines lying down so not putting pressure on the wrong areas. Its my arms that are getting flabby though 🙁 grrr!! It is difficult not to work out though when we are feeling back to normal. xx

I’m going back to the gym this week. I will be nearly 5 weeks post op but I feel 100% back to normal and obviously not going to train upper body – just going to use treadmill and cross trainer as my belly is getting fat after doing nothing for ages haha! Thanks for everyone replying – made me feel better about exercising now xx
