Ever since I can remember (around age 16) I’ve always wanted a boob job.
Doing P.E in school getting changed in front of everyone made me feel so insecure, I hated it.
Once I left school people kept saying no don’t do it etc so I was scared into not having it.
I got to age 21 went to a few appointments with different companies but didn’t have the money at the time to go ahead and didn’t feel comfortable with the surgeons, this time I didn’t go to mya.
Holidays with the girls I dreaded, I went but hid behind padded bikinis.
I had no confidence in the way I looked, as being tall and slim made me feel boyish. All i heard was real women have curves, drove me mad! Actually women are all different, curves do not define you!
So a few years went by and age 25 I had enough of being limited to what I could wear. I had some savings and decided to book more appointments.
I’m a nurse so I am fussy and to impress me you have got to be good.
Mya came out on top!
They do not pressure you to book, they allow you time to think. They give you lots of information, website is excellent along with this forum.
I could not ask for better service.
Excellent communication from patient co-ordinator, nurse and surgeon. They are all so friendly and welcoming nothing is too much to ask.
I was allowed to go in as many times as I wanted to, to ensure I was choosing the correct size and shape.
My surgeon was Mr Mounir who is excellent, I felt so comfortable with him and he knew exactly what I wanted and gave me just that!
I was in Preston first trust hospital, it was quiet, clean and the bed was so comfortable! Staff where brilliant nothing was too much trouble, checking my observations regularly. Gave me all I wanted, tea, toast, biscuits.
The operation- I went to theater at 09:30 I was first, I had requested to be. I was back in my room at 10:25. I was amazed how quick it was.
I was chatting away as soon as I was back asking for a drink, peeping at my new boobs.
I called people to say I was done, they where shocked I was so well.
I was sick once but they gave me IV medication for that.
I was in no pain and didn’t have pain post op.
The recovery was easier than expected, yes moving is awkward and sometimes a bit uncomfortable but it wasn’t pain. I was out walking on day 3.
I had 1 week off work and the week later I was at a conference with work you wouldn’t think I had just had surgery.
The only issue I had was trapped wind, this was horrible, however I took advice from the nurses and peppermint tea and charcoal tablets worked a treat.
The nurse rang me a few days after my op to check I was ok, which I thought was brilliant.
I love my boobs and can now wear things I never could. My confidence has grown and my boyfriend has even noticed a difference. He was supportive through the whole process and didn’t try to stop or push me towards the op said it was my own decision.
Post op support from Mya had been excellent, I have now had my 12 week check and all is ok. I can go back if I need to but for now my journey is done.
Thanks Mya, you have made me so happy 🙂
If anybody wants any advice please feel free I ask
XxX
