Hi all,
I have been wanting rhinoplasty for 5 years but can’t seem to find he right surgeon! Mr Gonschior was recommended to me and I have a consultation booked with him on the 29th of this month.
For those of you who Mr Gonschior performed your rhino, what are your thoughts? Are you happy with the results? I’m so nervous but it’s something I need doing. Just hope the consultation goes well.
I would love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Hayley
Hey what are you wanting done Hun? I had closed rhinoplasty with dr g yesterday most the girls on my friends have had him aswell xx
I want closed rhino too. It’s just the hump on my nose really, but I have always wanted it shortened. Just don’t wanna end up with a turned up tip (if you know what I mean). Might speak to him about alterations to my tip too. How did the op go? How long before you can have splint removed, etc?
Thanks for replying 🙂
xx
Ye I had my bridge taken down and my tip shortened so hopefully will turn out ok it’s so hard to tell with the cast on I don’t want to and up with and upturned nose either lol! I think he said 12 days but I have to go back on the 27th for a check up then they will tell me when I need to come back to have it removed xx
I hope you get the results you want, hun and I’m sure it’ll turn out perfectly fine. You’ll have to keep me posted about how it’s turned out for you and if you’re happy with your results, if that’s okay. Is it difficult to sleep with?
xx
Yes I will do in a proper worrier so always thinking the worst! It took me awhile to get to sleep last night as I always sleep on my side but I managed to get to sleep after a while it’s just getting used to sleeping on your back xx
That makes two of us- that’s why it’s taken me so long to find a surgeon. Haha. Hopefully Mr Gonschior will be the man.
Hi Hayley,
I too am waiting for a consultation with Dr Gonschoir. I’m not in a rush to have it done as I need to get the money together but hopefully next year would be great. It is scary and I really want to make the right decision.
Kelly,
To your reply earlier, no I haven’t booked op yet. My consultation with Dr G is end of November. Do they put those gel like splints (if that’s what they’re called) up your nose or do they take them out before you go home? Have you had to take pain killers yet?
Xxxx
I’ve read so many positive reviews but there are the negative ones. They’re the ones that tend to stick out too unfortunately but from looking at his work I can see he’s a fabulous surgeon. I suppose it just depends on my nose- I’m hoping that mine will turn out as successful as the ones I have seen. I just want to be able to have my photo taken from the side and not hate it. I’m hoping that it’ll work. Xx
Is your consultation soon?
Hi Hayley!
I am another Gonschoir patient, and a recent one like Kelly! I had a closed rhino with him on Thursday last week, Ill add you!
The splint over my (and Kellys!) nose it like a soft-ish plastic and they tape it down underneath it and over it – so its not budging! They put wadding up your nose, most of which they take out before you go home, and they tape a drip pad under your nose to catch blood and fluid… but i took that off after a day.
Mr Gonschoir doesn’t recommend taking ridiculously strong painkillers, they just send you home with an Antibiotic and Ibuprofen. To to honest, it isnt a painful procedure at all – your throat hurts more than your nose!

…. also, if it makes you feel better, I have had consultations for a nose job several times over the past 10 years… but either got too scared, didnt like the surgeon or it just didnt feel right. Then I met Mr G and decided to bite the bullet. I think meeting him will really help you, he is a specialist and has done some great work. I havent seen my nose yet as my splint is on for another 9 days but I am really confident that he was the right choice! xxx
Thank you so much for replying, Lizzi! It seems like you’ve had a really good experience with Mr G. I hope your results are perfect for you. It is such a daunting experience and trying to find the right surgeon is difficult- especially as there seems to be more bad reviews than good online. That’s why I thought I would post and see what recent people thought so I’m glad you’ve replied. I look forward to hearing about your results once your splint is off. How long did he suggest to take off from work? At the patient consultation, I was told around 2 weeks, is that right?
Xx
Well, I have a really boring job! I am an IT consultant and can work from home, so I only took off Thursday and Friday last week and went back to work yesterday! My job only really involves answering emails and I can do that from the comfort of my bed 😉 But if I had to go out in public public then I would have taken off the whole two weeks that my splint is on. Its really up to you. Considering you cant wear make up and washing your hair is a mission its better to just sit at home I think xxx
