Hi girls,I got my op on 8th jan the nurse told me on pre op that I can’t smoke for 2weeks before op and 6weeks after….so not sure if I have to take that seriously?! My doc knows I smoke and he never sad anything about it…if I have to stop ill just do e cigs no nicotine just hard to imagine on a day of op not having a fag as ill be so nervous! If any of u smoke what did u done about it??! Thanks xxx

E cig was good for me 3years ago with my 1st op in still on it now never touch fag since I’ve have cola in mine give them a go xx

Hi ya I had/ have this problem, I tried to cut down before the op but it didn’t happen…. now I’m 7 days post op im using patches and just cut down considerably to about 5/6 a day. It’s to do with healing process because of the chemicals in the cigarettes. I didn’t know if I should have taken it more seriously either lol. Good luck with it 🙂

I shouldnt be saying this but I am 7 days po and I didn’t quit. I had my strapping off today and was told that I’ve healed very nicely, no bruising, but that’s not to say I wont have any complications further down the line?!? Good luck Hun xxx
