    1) The side of my right boob feels bruised and is quite swollen on the side compared to my left? Is this normal to swell on the sides?

    2) I’m wearing my macom bra and it keeps rubbing on my incisions- is there anything I can do to stop this?

    3) the nurse said no creams oils etc but do you think it’s fine to use it around the tops of your boobs? Just as it isn’t near my incisions? I really don’t want to get stretch marks so want to use some bio oil

Thanks girls I appreciate your answers xx

The sides hurting are totally normal 🙂 I’m 5 weeks PO and mine have just about stopped hurting now.
You’re also fine to use bio-oil on the tops of your boobs too, just as long as nothing goes near the underneath anywhere near your incisions.
Bra-wise, the Macom is awful I think.. Not supportive – at all! Go to Debenhams and get measured for a shock absorber ultimate run, I was achey and sore until I got mine – I got it 2 weeks PO and it made my recovery so much easier! They’re a funny size so you cant just go buy one online without being measured.. I’m a 34 E in all my other sports bras but a 36DD in the shock absorber so you really need to go and get measured.
Good luck with your recovery, you’ll be fine 🙂 xx

I wore the Macom bra after my BA and as I have a quite long torso and had a bit of swelling travel down under my boobs, I felt the bra was a bit tight under the boobs. I spoke to the mya nurse and she said it was normal but I was feeling uncomfortable so I got recommended the macom foam inserts, I used this under my boobs, in between the skin and the bra and it made it so comfy as I was really swolen in the first 10 days. the foamy inserts and the bra were a God send at night in the first 2 weeks after my op. Maybe try them?
