    Hey ladies.
So I’ve seen the odd comment here and there that girls are using bio oil or moisturizing cream weeks before their op, on their breast to prepare the skin for stretching when the implant goes in…do you have to do this? Did many of you post op girls do this? The nurse or surgeon haven’t said anything to me. I am just under 3 weeks away from my op now and was wondering if I should be doing this?
Any views or advice appreciated 😀 xx

Use bio oil and cocoa butter religiously and after the op use them at the top everyday x

Hi hun, these are all preventive measures really. I have my op on Wednesday and I have used bio oil or extra moisturising cream but it certainly won’t do you any harm xx

I have been using it since 1 month pre op morning and night. I think if you are prone to them you will get them, but I’m doing it regardless – if it doesn’t work on my boobs hey ho – at least I can say I tried!

I used it twice a day when I was pregnant as well and never got a stretch mark. However my friend did the same and was covered.

However, you could say when pregnant my skin was stretching gradually, but when I go for my op they’re going to just whack a massive implant inside – only time will tell! Can’t hurt to try xx

I’ve used bio oil a week before my op morning and night and not had one stretch mark and my boobs are like 3 times the size they were before! Haven’t used it at all since my op tho as I don’t want it anywhere my incisions x

@lr666 I used bio oil and cocoa butter a month before my op. I used the cocoa butter in the morning and bio oil at night. Be careful with how much bio oil you use because I’ve read on here that it can cause spots, I started to get them when I over used the oil. Ended up just using cocoa butter x

@destijl Thanks for your advice hun. I think that I will start to moisturise them for now and use bio oil a couple of times before my op. I have done some research and surgeons are saying that there is no proof that pre op moisturising can help but if there are others that have done it, then I may give it a go aswell. Who knows, it could cause some slight difference. Hope you’re recovery has been good x

I’ve been using bio oil religiously since i had my first consultation about a month ago, and i’ve noticed the elasticity in my skin is more! i don’t know if that’s because of the bio oil or just losing breast tissue with being on slimming world lol! I now keep getting itchy bumps, drives me mad so stopped using it, need to try something new now thanks girls xxx

@tanyacolk91 hibiscub is a strong anti bac wash – surgeons use it to wash their hands before surgery! If you do want some, it’s in the first aid aisle of Boots, not near standard body wash stuff.

It’s also expensive! Normally £10 eek! But Boots have it at £5 at the moment x
