OK so I had a spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung) over 12 months ago. There was no illness or reason as to why I had it. Was just told that because Im tall and at the time slightly under weight that’s probably the reason why. I had check ups after it was resolved and was given the all clear and discharged from outpatients at my local hospital, and haven’t had any problems at all since.
I went to see my gp today to tell him about my BA and he already knew as the clinic had written to him. Hes sent a letter back informing them of my collapsed lung. I asked if there would be a problem with me having my BA and he said he doubts it but it would probably be down to the anesthetist. I’m meant to have my BA on monday in Preston. Does anyone know of anyone that has had the same and been refused to go under genral anesthetic?? I know my gp said he doesn’t think there will be a problem…but still has got me worried and feeling sick at the thought that I might get refused. Xxxx
