So I began my journey wish before I walked through the doors of MYA, and finally last Wednesday I was walking into the operating theatre!
I’m so glad it’s finally done but would give what’s left of my right tit for a faster healing process… Alas despite the marvels of the human body and my can do attitude that’s not something even I can control!
Each day it gets a little better, lounging about isn’t something that comes naturally but I’m forcing myself to not move too much, keep my sports bra on, and take the pain killers (no matter how long it takes to go to the loo after!)
Can’t wait to buy my first bra from a high street shop!!
Feel free to contact me if anyone needs any words of comfort, it can be quite a lonely process xx

Your results are looking fab! Really neat incisions too, you must be thrilled!
The sharp stabs are normal, I was told it can sometimes be nerve endings coming back together after the trauma.

Week 4 photos attached, I’ve highlighted one area that’s meant to be a common place for little tags/lumps. I’ve investigated after panicking and It’s just the stitch underneath, I’m reassured it will fade, it’s a little sore and red but not painful.
Healing a going well I’m able to lift my as a little more, I have developed a pulling underneath which my nurse thinks might be Mondors veins, I had one of these before the op, So im researching how best to treat them. X

Your boobs look like they’re healing well and the incisions are neat! Who was your surgeon? I’m pretty much ready for my op on Monday I think? Any hints or tips would be appreciated, I’m in the Preston hospital with Mr Mounir. Eek!

Hi Lindsay! you’ll be out by now, hope it all went well, just shout if you need any information during your down time! Dr Giannitrapani carried out my surgery, he was great, short and to the point which is what I needed. Preston was a beautiful clinic, so nice to wake up there and the nurses were lovely.
So, I’m approaching week 5, I’ve been a bit over eager and worn a softer sports bra for work today and knocked a scab right on the cross over of the base of the anchor off… watch for these – that wasn’t pleasant. I’ve given it a little clean and re-dressed it with some spare anti-septic and dressings Jenny gave me. Hopefully it will dry out and heal over, its very small, then that’s the last of my scabs!

I went and got measured at M&S whilst in town at the weekend and interestingly they’ve sized me at 34 DD, I’ve not put on any weight or inches so it may be i was wearing a smaller back size just to offer some support to my old boob’s. Again, I’ve been over eager getting measured as there is still some swelling to go down, and there is no way ill be able to wear an under wire just yet- but I couldn’t resist looking at all the pretty bras in prep!

Ill pop up some more pictures one this little blighter has healed over!

I had the same situation, Jen! Before my op I wore a 32JJ, I now measure a 36DD which baffled me when I’m not particularly broad backed!

Hope you don’t mind the add, I’m fascinated with your pictures! Looks like they’re healing great! I’ve been told I’ll need an uplift so im trying to learn as much as I can from others on what this is gonna be like! xxx

Hi all, thought it’s been a while, since I’ve been back to work I’ve started a new job and it’s all been a bit manic! Healing is going well, still “tight” in some areas and I’ve had to opt for bike and rowing machine over running as even with the tightest sports bra its a bit tender the next day.
Love all the new tops and dresses I can wear, still not used to my new shape, have to try before I buy normally as everything looks so different! Button up shirts are my new favourite! X

6 Months on and things have settled down nicely! push up bras are the next challenge, underwire has become easier but anything that pushes the scars is tricky- don’t think you’ll be showing them off in your best undies too soon, yoga bras are still my favourite!
One of my favourite moments over christmas was when we stayed at my in-laws and i didnt need to worry about putting a bra on under my PJs- before I had this done I’d have to wear a bra to bed if I stayed over anywhere to spare any blushes! it’s the little things!

    Hi Jen!

Great thread! I’m just starting the research stage as I still have a way to go until I’m at my ideal weight to go for me personally to be ready for a reduction.

You mentioned in your last post that the scars were still a problem. Do they still hurt even 12 months afterwards? How soon were you able to start back at the gym and such? Obviously health & healing are the key priorities so I’ll just adapt to whatever.

Kind of frightening seeing the pictures. Makes it more real…

    Regards,

    Kelly.
