I had my BA on Monday and just wanted to share my experience. Went in at 10 had to wait until 11ish to be taken to my room, went down for surgery at 1pm. I was s nervous wreck as I hate needles but the anesthatist was so good the canula was in so quick. Next thing I woke up in recovery in the nicest warm bed 🙂 they have a warm blanket over you to stop the shaking which is great. Taken back to my room not in too much pain at all. Felt very sleepy after the anaesthetic and kept falling asleep. I started to feel sick so the nurse gave me an anti sickness injection which helped. When they came to remove the canula and the drains I was really freaking out as I had read they really hurt! The canula was out before I even knew she had removed it no pain at all. The drains were also removed super quick and the pain really wasn’t bad, you feel then come out but it wasn’t painful for me. It stang on one side for a few minutes then was fine. After I had eaten some toast and had a cup of tea we went home at 10pm
They are so lovely there and I was very well looked after.
The rooms are very hot and stuffy so I would advise to take a hand held fan.
I haven’t had too much pain mainly when sitting from lying down but it’s bearable.
Good luck to anyone having surgery soon
