Hey! I know it’s ridiculous as I’ve wanted me op for so long so you’d think it’d be easy to think of the positives and just stop but I’m finding it so hard to stop smoking! Has anyone else had to stop? How have you got on xxxx
I’m stopping today. I done it before but can’t gradually do it like 2 a day. I just carry on like normal and then won’t touch one as of today x
I’m the same I’m finding it really hard to give up, my ops in a month and am really trying to cut down but finding it so difficult. Think I’m just gunna go cold turkey!
I tried going cold turkey and was horrible!!! I’ve cut down loads. Going to try and not smoke all this week xx
My op is next Sunday, I just stopped cold turkey 2 weeks ago, every time I want one I just think BOOBS! It’s hard but I know it will be worth it n hopefully I will carry on not smoking after but we’ll see! X
Im 3 weeks post opp today and have smoked. I managed to cut it down to about 5 per day. That said my heeling has been fantastic and my scars are really good. I think its meant to slow the heeling process down but it hasnt effected me.
I had to stop taking the pill but im on the mini pill. Now ok to take again.
Xx
Thanks Hun! I’ve definitely cut down, and I am trying but it’s so hard and stressing me out even more. Don’t want to go into surgery stressed! Xxx
@jennapalfreeman hi, how long before did you stop taking pills? I just stop on Friday and next Sunday is my surgery. I’m a bit worry but don’t think will be some problems.
Yeah thats fine. It was about a week before.
I smoked when i got home from surgery. Wwwoopppsssssss!!!
Obviously smoking is bad and meant to slow the process of heeling down etc but from my personal heeling, it hasnt affected it at all.
Good luck with surgery. ??
Three and four days before surgery I took one contraceptive pill. I told them on the morning of surgery and they added it to notes but said it would be OK. Surgery went ahead no questions. It’s ‘advice’ rather than a definite rule I think. Whereas not doing kick boxing the day after surgery is a ‘rule’. That sort of thing, so not to worry.
