Hi guys noticed on here before about the GP note needing to be given to Mya before the op … How soon do they need this? Do they need it for the surgeons consultation and pre op ?

    Also do they expire ?

Hey :). They just send over a form to say your having it done. The GP would then just scan it for your records or if he thinks your unfit for the anesthetic or if he questions your ‘mental capacity’ to make the decision he will write back.
If you have no problems with the above then you’ll be fine :). Xxx

    Hey beckii
I’m sure you’ve seen my post
The letter my GP got was, as Tracey said, worded to respond IF there were any problems with the anesthetic or reason not to have surgery so my GP didn’t respond and now it’s a complete joke as mya say they do need a response, despite the letter not actually asking for one. So I would confirm at your pre op what they do want!! They just need it before your surgery, it’s at your pre op you sign the letter sent to your GP

Hi Sarah. Me and my sister are going for our surgery on the same day. My doctor responded to my form and her doctor never. I then had to get further evidence to support having it done. They may have to acknowledge that they have received this. But they do not have to respond with any information.
    Tracey xx
