There is 0 chance I can stay at a hotel after the surgery because my boyfriend is working, we live about 2 1/2 hours away, do you think it will be fine to just do the drive home and has anyone else done this? Thanks girls xo
Not a chance Hun I was up and shopping they day I came out of hospital but there was no way I could of drove x
Sorry I’ve took that as you would be in the drivers seat is this what you meant? Xx
Hey Hun. I was fine day of surgery and could life my arms the second I woke up I was really bad I couldn’t even stand up properly so I don’t think driving home is ideal. Could u not take a friend or something to stay over locally or at the hospital? X
I won’t be the one driving, just a passenger
You can be a passenger. I stayed overnight and had a 3 hour drive back. It’s uncomfortable regardless hun. I tried a pillow like some of the girls suggested so I could wear a seat belt, but that was not happening. In the end I didn’t wear one. Everybody is diff. I had unders so was going to be more uncomfortable than overs. You could always ask for your pain relief before you leave so it can kick in. Thinking back to how I was the night of the surgery. I was out for most of it ? xx
I live about 1.5 from where I’m having mine and mya was ok with that as I guess it’s only a few mins difference but 2.5 will be very difficult for you and I would imagine mya would advice you stay in a hotel just incase. Speak to your pc though, maybe if you have a nhs walk in centre close by you have them to fall back on?
Rebecca I’ve had a notification that you have mentioned me but the forum is not taking me to what you have said! Add me and private message me xxx
It’s a day case and it’s just because my boyfriend won’t be able to stay overnight, I know it will be difficult but dont know anyone else that can take me, think I will have to fill the cars with pillows and try bare it, thanks xo
Sorry Hun I took it as you was doing the driving! My hospital was about an hour away and I just relaxes the seat back and put a pillow between the seatbelt and yourself you should be fine as your coming out of hospital they would of given you all your meds before so you should be as pain free as you can be at that point! Just ask your partner to be more aware of pot holes and try not to slam on and you should be fine xx
Yeh I will do that, thanks for the advice!? xo
