I have my surgery booked for Saturday, I have the leftovers of a cold! Kicking myself obviously but it couldn’t be prevented in this rubbish weather! I have a tiny bit of the sniffles left and gunk in my throat. I feel 100%, don’t feel ill at all just these two little bits left. Do I ring and tell and chance them cancelling my surgery or do I go ahead hoping it will go away before Saturday? If it doesn’t go and I’m still sniffly then will they do my surgery?! Help guys!

hi Rachael, don’t worry!!! I had a terrible cold before my surgery and they went ahead (I wasn’t with mya). they go by temperature and infection. as long as your temperature is below 38 degrees and you don’t have a throat infection/chest infection they will go ahead. I asked my surgeon if id be able to breath and he said you have a tube down your throat so not to worry lol! honestly if you feel okay it will be fine. in the morning of surgery they will ask if you have had a cold recently, tell them you have but you feel fine, they will just do a few general checks on you.xxxx
