Seriously can’t wait, booked in for 8th Nov. Have the macom ordered. Need to visit asda for a 2nd bra option. Ordered the V pillow. Arnica at the ready. Only thing left is to quit smoking!! I’m 2 weeks away and on the patches. My surgeon said I have to quit completely, and he will do a urine test on the day and will not do the surgery if it shows nicotine! I do fully understand the reasons why smoking is so bad for surgery and the risks of infection etc… But think he’s being really harsh!! Has anyone else had this? All the pre op notes etc say to cut down 2 weeks before and no smoking 2 days before. It’s really stressing me out as looked on line and it can stay in your system for 3 months!!! Xx

Hi I had the same problem as you, I stopped smoking the night before but ended up having a fag on the day of surgery as I was so stressed out, my admission time was 1pm didn’t go down for surgery till 5.30 and in all that time I didn’t get tested for nicotine even though I was told I would. Xx

I do wonder if it’s a scare tactic, just trying to motivate me to quit! Really want to, and am trying. You’ve taken the pressure off that you didn’t get tested πŸ™‚

How were you after the op? Any complications through smoking?

    Xx

I got to admit I was fuming, I think if your going to give up do it because your ready and want to, wasn’t happy I was scared into it and didn’t even get tested, Day 4 now no complaints due to smoking, bit uncomfortable but not in pain, I had a ba and rhino too so haven’t been smoking as much as normal but when I do it Doesn’t cause me any problems x

Urine test?!?!?! Ive never heard of a urine test for nicotine!! I was told I needed to quit atleast 2 weeks before but no body said anything about a urine test! I have quit but I am using a vape fag, they have got nicotine in..so how can they tell the difference?! Sounds like a scare tactic to me!! Xx

I stopped smoking the week before my op and never had a urine test, I think he’s just trying to scare you, which ain’t really fair! You’ll be fine having a few after that’s what I’ve done and I’m 10 days post op! Good luck x

I stopped 3 weeks before my op and haven’t had one since, done 12 weeks now without, I didn’t want to risk infection and wanted to give myself the best chance to heal. Never thought I’d quit smoking as i smoked for over 15 years so I’m so happy that getting my boobs done also mad me do it! X

Well done on quitting. I’m hoping my op gives me the boost to stop for good. Just don’t like the pressure of the ultimation.. I’ve always done the opposite to what I’m told… Ha ha. Xx

I think they say it as it can affect the healing process but again everyone is different x

A very expensive way to stop smoking girls but if it helps I suppose there is a plus in everything! Xx

No it isn’t a scare tactic. It actually does slow healing. I was talking to someone the other day whose friend ignored Dr Katts (Spire-Sutton) instructions to not drink or smoke. She is now having to see them weekly as she is not healing properly and is infected. They wouldn’t state it without good reason. Google it. It explains it all x

I don’t think u do get tested but it’s up to you if u want to risk it. 13th March my op is with mr Kazzazi and so far so good I’ve quit!! I quit Sunday so 5 days and I’m feeling ok. Although I did enjoy smoking, especially when drinking, more of a social thing, so who knows I may not quit for good but defo until my op and once I’m healed. Boobies over smoking anyday!! πŸ™‚ xx

I came out of surgery for my BA yesterday, stopped smoking for 6 weeks before surgery, and yes I did get urine tested for nicotine and pregnancy, passed with flying colours. It’s so not worth being sent away for another 2 weeks just for a couple of drags. I know how hard it is trust me I was a heavy smoker but now I’m so happy with my new girls and was definitely worth quitting for them!

@rache099 Same as Sara Louise, I tried to cut back but I just didn’t manage it. Wasn’t told I’d be tested or anything & had one on the morning of my op too … Only test I had taken on the day was a pregnancy test
