    Hi girls I have my op in December I was just wondering if it is ok to travel home on the same day for me it would require 2 hr train or coach journey. I know it states on the consent form not to travel on public transport for at least 24 hrs after and to stay near the hospital but not sure what to do ?

    I had a 2.5 hour drive home on the same day and it was fine hun it’s not til the morning after I felt any pain, just put a scarf or something between your boobs and the seatbelt for comfort ? X

    It’s not really about pain, they prefer you to stay close to the hospital in case you need to come back in for any reason but it is unlikely so I guess it’s up to you whether you risk it or not xx

    You wouldn’t be able to get a train maybe a coach but I personally wouldnt you want to try and be as comfortable as possible. Ideally get a cab or a lift with a chaperone ‘friend or family, as I think they want you to go with someone as you have just been under anesthetic. Hope this helps I’m having my op 30th November and my boyfriend is coming with me x

    My mum is coming with me and she won’t drive to London so we are getting a coach there it’s just getting back we have a problem with. Maybe it’s best to stay overnight and then travel home the following morning? It would still require a coach or train journey though I just hope it’s not too uncomfortable x

    I had my op in London last month with a 1hr 15 train journey plus 45 min drive each way. I stayed in a hotel in London the night of my op and traveled home the next day. While on the night of my op all I wanted was my own bed, I’m really glad I did stay down there overnight because it put my mind at rest in case something bad did happen xx

    Plus I was in quite a bit of pain on my way to the hotel from the hospital so it would have been hell to travel for 2 hours on the same day. Everyone is different though, you might feel fine 🙂 xx
