Hi ladies, I suffer from depression I’ve been taking medication for this. Mya have asked for a doctors letter stating I’m well enough for the op. When i seen my doctor last night she confirmed I’m well enough for the op and my depression is stable, although It’s only been 18months since i last had councling, mya stated it has to be 2 years.
Has anybody had a silmiar problem?
My pic did say if anyone has suffered from any kind of depression in the past two years it’s now a big no no.. She said they have really gone strict on depression now. I hope your be okay though every case is different. That only came up in my conversation with my pc as I have two things that could have stopped me going ahead with my surgery and she said I should be ok.. As long as I haven’t suffered depression as that’s one thing that does put a hold on things xx
Mine told me as long as i had a doctors letter stating i’m in the right frame of mind for the op it should be fine. I dont understand why everybody gets told different things xx
I know it’s so confusing when that happens. If that’s what she says just go along with it all and seems like everything should be fine for you then. My pc seemed quite strict on them things xx
Hi Hun I would speak to your PC again just to make sure as I have seen so many girls on here heartbroken when their opp is cancelled due to depression and they have got letters of doctors their was a girl about a month ago who had her opp cancelled 3days before she was meant to have surgery xx
I know it’s so frustrating! My doctor has no problems with me having my boobs done, my old counclior has even agreed! I’ve wanted this done for so long I feel quiet disheartened to be honest. With the posts I’ve seen about girls getting their ops cancelled last minute I think the service is unfair! The reason ladies have their boobs done is because their unhappy with their body! I understand you have to be in the right frame of mind in case something went wrong but if your gp is saying you are how can they not accept xx
Oh no! They’ve asked for a letter from mine too… I just assumed everything was going to be ok? I’ve paid £1000 too, suppose to be having op on 2nd Feb. I’ve spoken to dr an she said all is fine for me to have it done. (My small chest is the reason I’m on the flipping things!)
Exactly! I’m the exact same I’ve struggled throughout my teen years, hated seeing my friends develop and I didn’t! I feel like a boy! Have you had any consultations anywhere else?
I have depression and very bad anxiety and i still take tablets for it. The doctor wrote a letter saying i was ok for operation and i had ny operation december 2014 xx
Apparently it’s gone a lot stricter! Xx
A lot of girls say getting their boobs done will make them less depressed/small boobs are the reason for their depression… I think MYA are right to be very wary of this because you’re not supposed to get it done under the impression it will change your life in even the smallest way. Yes, it does increase self confidence when you look in the mirror on a very superficial level, but having bigger boobs doesn’t change why you have negative self image in the first place! They’re just boobs and don’t define you! If I had depression I would spend the £5k on the best therapy I could get, then see if I wanted cosmetic surgery afterwards…
Just my personal opinion in relation to why MYA cancel quite a few ops and why people shouldn’t be as surprised maybe. I would have been gutted though if mine was. Best of luck x
Obviously it will change your life, if you’re fed up because your not happy with the way you look changing it would be the correct thing to do in my eyes. Getting my breasts done will help me with my confidence, it will not get rid of my depression. If somebody suffers from mental health issues yet has a doctors letting stating the patience isn’t getting their breasts done due to the illness, I don’t see why it should be a problem. Mya only want conformation that ladies aren’t going through a bad patch with their depression/mental illness and have decided to get their breast done because of this! Ladies which have strongly wanted this doing for a number of years, I don’t see why an illness should make a difference. Mya also want conformation that if anything went wrong the patience would be able to cope with the situation. If a doctor has agreed to send a letter with this information I don’t see why ladies are getting their ops cancelled last minute!
Yeah I see where you’re coming from totally – all I’m saying is that I don’t blame them for being wary just in case they ever got sued or something because someone found the experience traumatic etc.
I think they should manage expectations at the start and not let people go through with it if there are doubts! It must be devastating to experience a cancellation last minute.
Just keep on to them and don’t stop until you get confirmation that the nurse has signed off your letter as that’s the all clear. You’ll be fine! Best of luck xx
