Oh my god so I guess I’m not the only one that thought the way I did and with all the hype and read up about Macom bras went with it spending over £80 on x2 post op bras thinking of course they would give me the support I needed advertising As a post operative bra , I’m one week post op and today went down to asda to grab a zip front sports bra for a back up when macoms in wash ( thinking they wouldnt give good support for £8 ) oh was I wrong ! I’ve just put it on to be gob smacked with the difference of support from a macom I would say there is 100% more support in a £8 asda bra as a pose to a £40 macom ! Girls don’t waste your money on macoms !! Xx

I’m just researching which support bra to get.. I was worried I wouldn’t get the support from other brands. Which one did you buy from asda? I think I will have a look at one now I’ve read this! Thankyou xx

Hey hun, I bought a Macom, an ASDA post op bra (only online. £8 I think) and two ASDA sports bras. Honestly, as long as you’re supported well and there is no rubbing on your incisions then you’ll be fine! Macom is the best for the first few days, but after a week it was muuuuch more comfortable to wear my ASDA one. Macoms are expensive and if you don’t want to spend that much then don’t worry, they’re definitely not essential. Just make sure whatever you wear is very supportive for the first few weeks. xxx

Hi Hun this is the one I went for ok the colours aren’t great but the support is better than any one I’ve had , my first op I used m & s / shock absorber this time went with macoms now asda honestly speaking asda outdoes them all on support xx

The new asda zip up bra (£8) is really comfy. I have macoms too but the asda one is just as supportive if not more

Hi @bea I was worrying with the exact same as you thinking maybe I choose the wrong bras last time etc but honestly speaking after trying m &s , shock absorber , macom and asda I would deffo recommend the asda zip front by far xx

No one seems to rate the Macom but my nurse has scared me so much I feel like I need to order them. Shes said if I wear sports bras and don’t go ahead with a Macom il regret the results and that’s what girls do and come back with wonky nipples and pointing in different directions then wonder why.. Arghh xx

Wow who’s your nurse I’ve never heard that ? I was never even told about macom first time round , if your that worried buy one of each and you can decide for yourself I mean maybe macom works for some people but I was so dissapointed xx

    Hi!

It feels like the nurses get commission for everyone they send to get Macom lol I know that’s not the case but they do strongly push you that direction. Luckily my friend told me Asda is better so I got two different types. The above Zip front and fasten up front (one without the floral pattern) I took before picks that I’ll be posting. Gosh I’m so flat in it at the month lol but they are comfortable xx

Don’t suppose any og you girls van help me,
I’ve tried asking the nurse and my pc what size bra I’ll need after surgery and they just say get a macom, but I can’t afford one so I need like that asda alternative.
I’ve heard you go up a back size to your usual and is it also a cup higher than you think? The only thing is I think I may be a DD after surgery but a lot of girls have achieved a E or wearing an E with smaller implants than mine so I’m so confused? lol
Any help would be great! xx

Definitely go up a size. As you want it to be comfortable while you’re swollen.
I actually got 36 DD And 34D as I was told they might go up to DD at first. And they are only £6-8. The sports bra I got a D. Even though when I settle I’m expected to be a C. But reading through the reviews some people say go up a size.

hey girlies , what so wrong with macom? i think there good like really good. they are comfy and supportive if you get the right size you need. but I guess its down to the individual . for me getting a macom was just stress free theres no worrying about cup size so I didn’t end up spending money I didn’t need to. plus they have a have a discount for mya – discount is my favourite word lol but yh its MYA2016 and you 15% off… don’t know about others but the way is see it is if im paying so much for my surgery I want the best after so an extra £30 not that bad xx

I know this post was a long time ago but I had asda bras last time and they were awful! Which ones did you get? Cos this time I’ve got the Macom ibra which is the more expensive one the highest support one and it’s brilliant! So so much not comfortable than any m&s asda or Matalan ones I had last time xxx

I also have the iBra as it had a higher support rating to the standard one & I’d recommend to anyone! Well worth the money you pay!

I had an asda one last time that looks very similar to that one but it didn’t fit me right 🙁 it might have been a different one though! I really struggled last time to find anything to fit without hurting me I had to go out the day after my op cos I couldn’t bare the pain and still found non ? Now I’ve got this ibra and its so so comfortable!! I think everyone is different aren’t they 🙂 I’ve heard a few bad things about the normal Macom bra so maybe this one is a lot better?! Can’t believe I’ve got to spend another 6 weeks of my life in these bras though ? I hated it last time! Haha how many weeks post op are you now xx

I’ve just had 500ccs and I’m a 32 back I’ve got two macoms but was going to order an Asda one . They have 34 e online might try that? As all the others are too big back size for me but they don’t have a 32 so thought 34 might be ok X

I wish I knew if it was a lot different than the 3 I had from asda! Cos the asda ones look a lot nicer than Macom and don’t wanna have to wear this for 6 weeks ? But for now it’s so comfy! How are you recovering? What have you had done?xxx

For info, I was a small deflated 32c pre op and got 350cc, this is me in my ASDA 34DD 2 days post op. It squashes them together so I prefer my Recova post surgery bra. I wore this for a couple of hours while my Recova one got washed. Xx

Hi girls, had my op on Monday and have been in my Macom bra, however just swapped to the asda one whilst I wash that and it feels a little tight for me and is squashing them together a bit. Is this ok and won’t cause damage? Xxx
