Hi everyone,
I’m in the research stage at the minute and I have quite a few questions that I’m hoping you can answer.
My sister had her boobs done at a different surgery years ago and I think hers look a bit ‘stuck on’ (unfortunately I don’t have a picture to show you what I mean) . She had rounded implants behind the muscle and went from roughly a 32aa to 32/34d, she is extremely skinny and bony so this could be the reason in them looking stuck on in my opinion? Does anyone else think this could be the reason??
Anyway…
The questions that I’m hoping you can answer are as follows:
1) What is the difference between moderate and high profile? And is there a big difference in how they look when they have healed?
2) What is the difference between ‘overs’ and ‘unders’? And how is it decided on what is best for the individual?
3) Is there a big shape difference / difference in the overall look of round implants and teardrop implants? And do you think that a particular shape looks more realistic?
4) Has anyone used the MYA piggy bank option for saving? Did you find it more helpful that saving on your own?
5) How long does the pain usually last? How long were people unable to do ‘easy’ household tasks before the pain went away enough?
Thank you for having a look at my post and I very much appreciate any help and answers that you can give me.
I went from a 32aa also up to a DD. I had moderate plus so if you want to add me that may give you an idea of how mod plus implants might look. I don’t think mine look stuck on personally. You can tell your surgeon your after natural looking results 🙂 and I’m sure you won’t get that stuck on look xx
Hi Natalie, I can’t answer all of your questions cos I haven’t had my surgery yet, I’m getting mine done in May. When I had my consultation the surgeon said I’d need to have unders (under the muscle as opposed to over the muscle) as I don’t have much breast tissue to cover the 450cc implants that I’ve opted for. He said I could have overs if I really wanted to but there’s more chance of seeing the edge of the implant due to the lack of breast tissue and cos he could feel my ribs at the top of and between my boobs. He said I’d be having high profile but I’m not really sure what the difference is other than the projection from your chest wall (so they stick out more). I was told by my PC that the teardrop shape are more suitable for ladies with fullness at the top of their breasts because they end up being fuller at the bottom so I’d you’re quite empty at the top to begin with she would recommend round over teardrop.
Sorry for the essay lol but hope it’s some help! ☺ xx
I cant answer all, but her weight wont be a help as she hasnt got enough fat to cover it so that might be why they look stuck on, moderates are natural looking and high profile is the fake look, over the muscle also is more fake looking and unders is under the muscle so again more natural looking, I tried to save in general but I couldnt so Im now on finance with MYA as that means I have to be pay monthly and easier then saving.
Unders take longer to heal, ive unders and im on day 5 and Im pretty ok to be honest, im not in pain its more discomfort then anything but my family are helpful too.
Its free to meet and talk to a PC and get advise , I hated my small boobs and I can tell this is thr best decision ive made, I waited 6years to get it done! Wanted as soon as I left school
Goodluck and hope you find whats best for you 🙂 x
Usually behind the muscle or “unders” gives you the opposite look of stuck on, so I’m not really sure why hers look like this.
1. The profile is how much they stick out from your chest. Higher profile stick out more and are a bit thinner. A higher profile is usually better for people with thinner chests. Your surgeon will decide the profile though so you don’t really need to worry about this 🙂
2. Overs are over the muscle. They tend to look more stuck on and are recommended if you have enough breast tissue already to cover them. If not then you have a higher chance of rippling or seeing the edges of the implant. These have a shorter and less painful recovery time. Unders or partials are placed under/partially under the muscle and tend to have a longer recovery time but they drop over a few weeks and have a more natural look to them. There’s also less chance of rippling or seeing the implant. Many women can also still breastfeed after having unders and it makes mammograms easier to see than if you were to go over the muscle.
3. Teardrop tend to look more natural than round, but if you go under the muscle then round usually tend to look quite teardrop shaped anyway after they drop and fluff out. It depends how natural you want them. Do you want it to look like you just have naturally bigger boobs, or are you like me and you want nice natural shaped boobs that still look a little bit fake. Or there’s the other option of having them look more fake and going for the round overs, but judging by what you said about your sister’s, this isn’t the look you’re wanting to achieve haha.
Can’t answer your last questions as I didn’t use the MYA piggy bank and I haven’t had my op yet! 23 days and counting yay! xx
Thank you all for your answers, it’s very helpful to have them from ladies with personal experience rather than a website.
Ellie – I don’t know why hers look like they do given everything you’ve said!
Mel – If you don’t mind me asking what size will the 450s take you to roughly?
Hayley – I’ve wanted them for years as well, I’m only 21 now but I just know that it would be the right thing for me to do to make me happier, it certainly made a difference to my sister as well.
Jess – what shape have you opted for and are you having overs or unders?
Sorry I don’t know how to tag anyone!
My sister lost a lot of feeling in her nipples after her surgery, has anyone else had the same thing happen to them? Her surgery was just the usual scars underneath, nothing was done to the actual nipple.
Hey, not had my op yet it’s on the 28th but because I’m a size 6 petite I have to have 300cc high profile unders, I sed i dnt want them to look fake stuck on , I’m a 32a and been told this size will take me to a D , I found getting a loan from the bank was a better option too xx
Thanks Kel.
I think I’ll have to just save up as no credit is bad credit 🙁
Wow alot of questions hehe I can answer the teardrop one! I only had my BA yesterday I had 475 under the muscle and teardrop and I think mine are looking quite “natural” at the moment however slightly on the larger side and swollen. Deffo would recommend! However I haven’t got much cleavage as I think this can only be achieved with the rounded ones ! X
I’m getting either 400/425/450cc high profile round implants under the muscle. Can’t wait! I’m so undecided at the minute though since I originally told my surgeon I wanted to be a D, but from what I’ve read on here, implants measure differently in bras to real boobs. So if your implants are a D, you’ll only really look like a C. If your implants are an E, you might only look like a D etc. So my surgeon told me to try on 325-400 and I definitely preferred the 400 but since seeing other pictures and reading on here I think I want a bigger size! I tried 425 and 450 on and really liked them so I’ve booked in to see Dr Mounir again on the 19th to see what he recommends and if he thinks I can go any bigger. Only problem is that my boyfriend is moaning saying he doesn’t want me to go too big, but I don’t want to spend all this money to just wish I’d gone bigger 🙁
Oh and to tag people you just click on their profile to find their username then just do a @ and their name, so to tag me it would be @jlst 🙂 xx
Hi Natalie Iv sent you a friend request, feel free to look at my pics on my profile. I was a flat 32a and got 325c under the muscle. I’m on day 6 recovery, I’m still slightly sore and can’t lift my arms above my head but I’m doing ok I’m able to make my own bed and now brush my own hair. The only thing I’m really struggling with at the moment is sleeping, the bottom off my back and bum is really sore from sleeping propped up but that’s it really. Iv not taken pain killers since day 3 x
