Hi all
Ive been looking into getting a breast enlargement for quite some time now, only thing that is putting me off is that i work in a supermarket
How long is the recovery time? Would i need to go onto light duties first? What do i say to my manager (male)
Thank you very much
Sarah xx
Hi I’m in the same position as you! I work nights so I’m very active lifting heavy items and pulling cages! I’m in the research stage at the minute but like you my manager is male so I don’t really want to be discussing what sort of surgery I’d be having! X
I haven’t had my op yet but they usually advise 7 days off work and I’m sure no heavy lifting for more than 2 weeks after op.. I would just tell your manager straight up, I know it might be awkward but he will find out that you’ve had it done when you return to work with bigger boobs haha. Or you could just say your going on holiday for a week.. If you tell them about the surgery they should be more understanding when you can’t do as much work:) x
Kaighley yes I work nights too! Not Asda by any chance is it lol
Demi thank you very much that has helped loads could just book the 3/4 weeks off, I thought it was 3 months
I work in a supermarket, I’ve booked a week off work and I spoke to my line manager, she’s agreed to put me on light duties for a little while when I go back to work x
Hey hunny! I work in a department store as a manager so I do a lot of heavy lifting and lots of moving around I had my op on 24th March, and went back on 2nd April so about 8 days of I told are manager just that I was having surgery but just booked it of as holiday I made managers in the store aware as well but I was fine going back to work after first couple days xxxx
No not asda I work at sainsburys, I might just book it off as holidays and see if I can be on light duties for a couple of weeks xx
Thank you so much everyone, got my consultation on Saturday 🙂
I got told no heavy lifting for 6 weeks because even though you feel fine enough to do it after 2, you don’t want to be damaging your amazing new additions without realising it xx
Aww ok I’ll see what they say on Saturday thank you
I’ve taken the whole six weeks off, but that’s purely down to my job! I’m not able to do light duties and the thought of flying with my new boobs scares me, just a little!
Thank you jade 🙂
I work two jobs one is retail and I work in a nursery too.. I’m gonna take two weeks off both and my PC said that the company can send a letter to your employers requesting you take light duties for a while xx
I got a surgeons note saying I had surgery ( didn’t specify what surgery) and I was signed off for two weeks. It also said I could do light activities upon return to work .
I would say pulling cagees after two weeks is ambitious. Everyone is different but I wasn’t comfortable with upper body movement for 4 weeks.
I have an office based job but a bit of a commute by train. I took 6 days as it’s all.i could get…. but another week or even another 4 or 5 days would have been much better as I was still sore when I went back 🙁 with your job is recommend 2 weeks or 10 days x
Just seen the bit about lifting / pulling. As others have said just do light duties for 6 weeks. My clinic offered a doc note x
Thanks everyone:) may just book 3/4 weeks off xx
Hi 🙂 I had my first op in November last year when I wasn’t working due to having my daughter and most of the pain had gone within 2 weeks but I still couldn’t Hoover up after 6 weeks! The pain was horrible. I could just about lift a kettle after 2 weeks and I’m not a wimp. I think it’s different for everyone. I have revision surgery on Wednesday and I now work behind a bar with a lot of heavy lifting so I’ve booked 2 weeks off and asked to not lift anything for 4 weeks once I go back!! Xxxx
