Well here I am sat in my hospital gown with no makeup on starving and desperate for a drink at 11:28am. It’s the moment I have been waiting for and promising myself since I was 15 years old. And now I feel sick to my stomach with excitement.
i am soooo tired aswell. It was like my body knew I couldn’t eat after 5am so it woke itself up at 4:30am and I just tossed and turned after that. Had I been at home I would have attempted to eat the entire contents of the fridge but being stuck in a hotel was my hungers downfall.
To be 100% honest I’m only slightly worried about the pain, and slightly worried about the entire operation, I’m actually more worried about people seeing my naff legs, my mum tum, my bare face and my unbelievably dry mouth which we all know leads to a funny smell lol. As soon as I can I will post update ????. I do however feel sorry for my partner that has to sit on the most uncomfortable looking chair for the entire performance ????
Good luck, I had my op a week today. Hope it goes well xx
Hi Kirsty, do you know what time you’re going to theatre yet? It’s such a glamorous procedure lol but you’ll look great soon enough xxx
Not sure yet ??? I’ve just been drawn on ?? not sure how long it takes now xx
Ooh probably not long now then! I think I was around 40 minutes after being marked up! Xx
That’d be awesome @nikki1973 I’m twiddling my thumbs now. My head is absolutely banging aswell xx
Still waiting ??? been told it could be another hour to 2 hours yet as he has “a big one on the table at the minute” nurses actual words wtf. So probably by the time I’m done I will have been nil by mouth since 5am. I’m starting to really struggle with my headache which I can only assume is dehydration because my skin is looking shocking too. I haven’t eaten a thing since 10:30pm last night and I’m just fed up at the moment. Honestly feel like crying.
Oh no. That’s awful. I wonder what they mean by that?? Have you mentioned your headache to the nurses? I don’t suppose they’ll be able to give you anything though. It’s such a warm and stuffy day too to be stuck without even a drink. I really hope they come for you soon. I know it’s no consolation at the minute but they were keen to get me drinking and eating as soon as possible after I came round. Xx
I’m hoping to get mobile ASAP after I come round because I’ve been here far too long as it is. I might aswell have not been admitted until 3 it’s absolutely ridiculous. The fact that I haven’t had a drink since 12:30 is worrying. I’ve not mentioned it because nobody comes in. I didn’t feel too bad when the nurse came with the bad news but now it’s awful. Xx
Id go for a wander and try to find someone. It won’t make anything happen any quicker but st least you might have a better idea as to what’s going on. It is a bit ridiculous. It’s not like being at a normal hospital where emergencies come in and you get moved down the list. They’re all routine operations. I feel so sorry for you. Xx
Oh god!! I’m dreading this happening to me, this heat aswell going all day without a drink, hope you go down soon!!! Xx
I’m just getting more irritated @nikki1973, I know I won’t get the answers i want. I’ve been here since 11 this is actually taking the Royal P now. I haven’t had a drink for 6 hours. I haven’t eaten for 19 hours now. I am on the verge of crying. I know if my other half jokes around one more time I’m either going to cry or throw him out the window. Apparently I have no banter just lately ?? give the man a medal. Hopefully I will get in soon. Just worrying now that the surgeon does back to back operations and how tired is he going to be doing mine?? Not good at all. I feel so deflated xx
Kirsty I’m recovering well thanks. I didn’t go down for my op until nearly 6pm last Monday but my admission time was 2pm. Hopefully you will go down soon. I was in recovery by 7 and they brought me some biscuits and water as soon as I was back to my room. I had a sandwich and cup of tea at 8:30 but didn’t get discharged until 11pm so it was a very long day. Hope everything goes well for you! X
Oh no Kirsty how annoying, that’s terrible they have made you wait so long. Hopefully u have ur nice new boobs and recovering x
Hi Kirsty how did you get on today I have been following your post but it went quiet about 5.40. I hope it all went ok for you and that you are feeling ok Angie X
Hi girls I got taken down at 6pm. The other half was asking a lot of questions to the nice doctor that fetched me. He wanted to video me coming round and full on Mong attack so he could share it with everyone and get his kicks for the day. Luckily they don’t allow people in recovery ??. Although it would have been a bit boring as all I did was shiver and I mean whole body shaking I think that’s where most of my pain came from as it would have tensed my muscles and shook those lol. I was back in my room just after 7 and the pain started to subside by around half 9 so I began to get dressed as I had only had toast at 7:30 and was verging on chewing my own arm off as that was the first thing I’d had since 10:30pm the previous night.
At 10:15 the nurse came in as I buzzed the buzzer and said oh I’m coming to discharge you, like she had forgotten I was even there. She put my macom bra on and scooped my right breast, ever since then the pain on the incision site has been horrendous. I can feel the stitches and everything. It hurts so bad. I woke up at 3am crying in pain so my mess had obviously worn off, but my other half failed to be woken up so I had to hobble around crying to sort myself out. Half an hour later he woke up when he turned over and my pillow fell on him ? Men eh lol. I’m sure he feels guilty.
Glad you finally got there in the end Kirsty! They look great. The pain is pretty bad at first but as long as you regularly take the painkillers and have someone to look after you it is ok. Happy healing xx
@helenlouisew Thank you Hun. Yeah the pain comes and goes I’m struggling more with my right side and my armpits are killing me. However I have just managed to put my makeup on and have a little wash. Oh and I managed to get changed bottom half only lol. I’m feeling loads better than I was at 3 this morning. Happy healing to you too and thank you xx
Glad you got there in the end it would have been devastating to go without food & drink all that time and then be told you couldn’t have the op! The girls look good and I would think as long as you keep on taking meds the pain should subside. Can’t wait till I have mine done Angie xx
Hi Kirsty, they look amazing! That was some wait you had. I feel really sad that you didn’t have a great experience yesterday at Preston as its meant to be such an exciting time. At least you’ve finally got your new boobies and are back in the comfort of your own home and can eat as much as you like today. Just keep on top of all your pain killers and you’ll be fine. It’s a bit of an effort but if you can manage to get up for a little wander round regularly you might also feel better. I find I sieze up if I sit still for too long. The boredom a kicking in with me now and my left boob is so sore. Xx
@angieca thanks Hun. Yeah I can tell when the mess are wearing off because the pain is unreal. When do you have yours?
@Nikki1973 thanks Hun. I’m just glad to be home now. I’ve kept mobile I was wondering round my hotel room this morning packing my bags. Literally got home at 2pm and have just had a steady walk to fetch the little ones from school. I’m really impatient and keep trying to hurry my other half up and end up doing it myself lol. Hate not being able to do anything lol. Is there any reason your left is so sore? Xx
Hi Kirsty I have mine on 5 August just hope it’s not as hot then!how are you coping with the heat have you got strapping on? Xx
Hi Kirsty, glad you’re home at last! It’s been a marathon session for you! I’m impatient too and struggling as in usually so independent. I’ve no idea why one hurts – the other one I wouldn’t know I’d had anything done feeling wise. As I had the uplift as well, I’m wondering the left is sore because that was my bigger side and they took more out?? I’ve really no idea, am just guessing tbh. It’s not sore all the time just when iMovie sometimes. This heat is getting to me though – I’m worrying in case my wounds get damp if I get too hot. Xx
@angieca aww not long to go then, what is it your having?
@Nikki1973 do you use your left more than your right? I’ve heard some girls struggle more with their domainent side ?. I struggle more with my right side when I move and I’m right handed so maybe it’s that lol. I know what you mean Hun I’ve been sat I front of my fan but then a got too cold and started to shiver now that did hurt lol. I never even thought about the wounds getting damp tbh ?? now I am lol xx
I’m right handed so I don’t know really. Everything looks ok when I check my bandages, there’s no sign of anything being wrong so I’ll assume I’m just more sensitive at that side. My boyfriend says I’m paranoid lol but how are we meant to know what’s normal and what’s not??? It’s not like you have a boob job everyday haha. Xx
I’m having 400 mod unders so by the other posts expecting to be in pain ? But I don’t care it will be worth it in the end ?????X
Kirsty you sound so much like me haha! love how real & honest you are! i think my hardest part is my recovery when my husbands dressing my girls like boys, doing everything slow & wrong so ill just do it and wish he was at work lmao! i turn into a right monster when i’m hungry & thirsty dreading that argh! hows your recovery? how old are your children? im feeling guilty & worried about cuddles, and playing with them x
@Nikki1973 ??? I know exactly what you mean. I’d be tempted to find a way to show him how much pain your in lol. My stitches are digging in on my right can’t wait to have them checked on Monday, I get really paranoid too lol xx
@sparklesparkler it’s better to be honest Hun. There’s no point sugar coating it as people do look on here for info and insight lol. Yeah I was a nightmare to be fair with not eating or drinking it’s such a horrible feeling. My recovery is ok I’m struggling a bit tho. The antibiotics make me feel sick so the 2hour car journey home was fun ??. I am incredibly bloated I actually look pregnant ? Lol. My children are 11, 8 and 4. So far they have been fine. My daughter looked at me and said well you don’t look any different ?? but the macom bra has squished them down tbh lol. My 4 year old is unaware of what I’ve had done as my other half just keeps saying mummy’s poorly and tries to keep him away as he’s so clumsy and bouncy lol. As yet I’ve not seen my 11 year old because he’s been on a school trip today and still hasn’t arrived back yet. I’m tempted to take my macom off to have a peak but I know it’ll hurt to put it back on again ??. When’s your op hunni? How old are your little ones? Xx
1 and it will be my second daughters 3rd birthday the week after (ARGGH!) they are so young they wont understand, they use me as swing, slide, and general climbing frame haha! im booked for first week of august, cant wait. everyone keeps saying theyve put on weight :'( im dreading that, still loosing my baby weight! haha x
Hi Kirsty & Alice, how are you both doing today? I seem to be getting more sore as they days go on, especially where my incisions are. I thought it was supposed to get better not worse. I must have been really numb straight after my op. Mark says my left side is VERY bruised which is probably why that side is worse. My bloating a slowly starting to go down now – managed to get my jeans on today but they’re as tight as my Macon bra lol! Thankfully my girls are older – 13 & 17 but it’s so lonely when everyone is out st work and school ? Xx
Hi ladies sorry to jump in read your posts I’m 7 days post op today and I have tried to rest as much as I can (ocd single mother) but I’m still really struggling to do things , my sons at school today and it’s literally taken me 30 mins to put his train track away I can’t peg the washing out etc, think recovery is longer then I expected and I should have maybe tried to rest more in the early days , thought I would try help you out 🙂 x
@hayley41 please don’t say that. I’ve only got a week off work ??. I’m just so tired all the time.
@Nikki1973 I really want to take my macom off to straighten it out but I’m scared I not get it back on. It’s digging like hell under my armpits. I’m feeling worse as the days go by too Hun. I feel so odd on these meds xx
Hayley – have you had your 1week review yet? Mines tomorrow and feel more nervous about that than the op itself in case they say it’s not healing properly or anything.
Kirsty – I had my bra on the tightest fastening but slackened it off last night and it does feel better. I must admit when I’ve undone mine to check nothing’s weeping or anything I’m actually relieved to put it back on – as tight as it is – it makes me feel safe! Can you lengthen the straps on yours and then kind of stretch it out forwards whilst you shuffle it down a bit? You might need hubby’s help lol. I feel like mines bunching up underneath where my incisions are. My meds are making me so sleepy. The minute I sit down I’m like a nodding dog. It’s a wonder I haven’t given myself whiplash. I can’t believe this weather – I’d love to be sat in a beer garden somewhere with a massive glass of wine. Aah I can dream …… Xx
I gave up and took it off and fell asleep for an hour and a half lol. It was a relief. Mines already on the loosest setting and it’s so tight. It was such a relief @Nikki1973 they do tend to bunch up tho. I’ve noticed I keep jumping when I first fall asleep, don’t know if that’s a reaction to the mess or what ??. How are you feeling in general with pain and stiffness? Xx
I’m not too bad Kirsty so long as I sit or lie still but sore with any movement. Glad I’m at the hospital tomorrow just so they can confirm everything’s as it should be with the healing. I’ll be a nervous wreck in the morning. Xx
I had a week and a half I’ve been out with my son
Tonight and my friends for a bbq first time I’ve really felt up to anything , I’m one of those that normally just carries on through illness etc so I really have struggled 🙁 I never realised I would be like this . I had a nap today I’m always tired too, my 1 week review is also tomorrow so hoping if they give me the all clear that there healing fine that I’ll be okay and no so cautious, I’m also very nervous about it ?? x
