I am 2 weeks post op today and I am ok during the day with only slight discomfort if I do too much. However I am so uncomfortable for the first hour when I wake up. My ribs ache and boobs feel swollen and tight. How many more weeks until this feeling goes?

Hi Helen, I have exactly the same! I’m 11 days PO uplift with implants. I thought maybe I must lay really stiffly when I’m asleep as I’m petrified I’m going to roll over. I really ache between my shoulder blades too first thing. I don’t think sleeping at 45 degrees is doing me much good as I feel very hunched up on a morning. I’m hoping it doesn’t last too much longer! Xx

I have 3 pillows and a v pillow but find my bottom slides down the bed so I’m waking up almost flat from my shoulders down. I have the dead arm thing too but only in my left side. Xx

Do you have pillows either side I have 2 each side of
Me and I sleep with my arms out straight on there so I don’t move down also can sleep on a little bit of an angle , mine was my left honestly could hardly drive on Thursday was awful couldn’t carry my bag even mum changed my pillows and I woke up Friday like a new woman xx

I’m going to try more pillows tonight. I have been sliding down my bed and awaking up flat so I don’t think that has been helping.

I’m attaching a photo of how I sleep incase it helps honestly I was sure the nurse was going to say something was wrong with my left boob. She said it was nothing to do with my boob and that’s when I changed the way I slept let me know how you get on x

Thanks Hayley. I surrounded myself with pillows last night and felt a little better this morning as it stopped me rolling on my side. X

@Helen the feeling disappeared quite randomly – morning boob was a thing of the past after 3 weeks xx try more pillows sleeping upright was really annoying for me. as soon as my nurse gave me the all clear I started to sleep on my back, im almost 5 weeks now and there’s no pain or discomfort xxx

So I’m on day four, and have to agree sleeping with extra support under my arms has really helped! I’m sleeping in my swivel love seat, totally maxed out in pillows etc, but slept 7 hours straight last night, which was amazing, woke up for meds, fell back to sleep not supporting my arms sadly and woke again in pain X so the arm trick is really helpful X

Great glad it helped people I’m sleeping like a baby now 2 and half weeks post op , and having a shower to wake me up in the morning is the best x
