I had my one week post op today and had my dressings changed. I had 300cc HP unders with a modified mastopexy. I was under the impression that the modified mastopexy bit meant the top of the nipple would be cut in a crescent shape and moved up but when my dressings were removed it turns out I’ve had a full donut incision around my nipple and the whole things been stitched back on with removable stitches that will be removed next week. I don’t think I was mentally prepared for that. Basically just wanted to rant as it really wasn’t what I was expecting. Has anyone had removable stitches before I never have..what does it feel like to have them removed and does it hurt?? The thought of it makes me feel a little sick.

On the upside, everything’s healing very well. I’ll just have more scarring than originally expected.

Hey hun hope ur ok I’m scheduled to have a mini doughnut life. I thought it would be better Surely than the crescent ie. Less scaring cos they don’t cut vertically up. Its just around the nipple. I’m.trying not to think about it tbh. Have my op in Dec. Who was ur surgeon? Fx

Hey Hun, I was under the impression I was only having half a cut nipple if that makes sense! I’m adjusting slowly to the idea. I didn’t realise I was so queasy until I started this process. I had Dr Andrea, he was amazing (misunderstanding about incisions aside!) I think the trying not to think about it way is the best, that’s exactly what I’m doing now. Good luck for december not far away now!x

Cos o rarely see posts about uplifts going ahead I read so many about Polegate avoiding them! Happy healing fx

I was told in the hospital not to use anything yet..I can’t remember how long for though. Didn’t really take much information in at the hospital I was in a world of my own. I have another appointment on 9th so I’ll ask and let you know 🙂 x

I had the disposable stitches around the nipple and I had the stitches out yesterday, it didn’t hurt at all and the nurses are so experienced at taking them out it’s really quick and not painful at all, you will be fine don’t worry xx
