Hi Ladies!
I need some honest advice. I was offered my BA back in September but I broke my leg (disaster) and everything had to be postponed. I’m now meant to be in Jan 2016, BUT Mya have offered me a date just before Xmas. Do you think it would ruin my Christmas? I need to travel for 4hours by car (I won’t be driving) potentially the day after the BA to get home for Xmas if I go for it. For me, it would actually make more sense to get it done then as my work is closed anyway so I wouldn’t need to book off annual leave! But I don’t want to do it, if I’ll ruin Christmas for myself/family. I read different things on the pain/effect of an under BA, so I’m v confused. I’ve had a general anaesthetic before so I know how that feels.
Additionally, what size?!? I’m a 32A. 5’4, 8.8 stone with an anthletic build. I want to be a large, full C. I was offered 300 or 325cc, but I’m leaning towards 250, or 275cc. Anyone with smaller implants & similar stats please could you share pics/thoughts?
Thanks so much! Xx
i had my op on wednesday afternoon going from a 32a/aa and having 335/325 under the muscle. i haven’t had kids.
I’m only just starting to feel normal today. if you want to enjoy the christmas period then i would advise against it. especially with a 4 hour journey. mine was 10 minutes.
the day after your op tends to be the worst when the meds wear off from the operation, and your body adjusts to the other drugs. if it was maybe 5 days before xmas then i would say go for it, but otherwise you’ll end up grumpy (like me) through lack of sleep, sleeping at an angle, and struggling to eat anything due to lack of appetite. and don’t get me started on my bloating!
haha sorry, don’t mean to put a downer on it, but i’m sure you’d rather hear what can happen. everyone reacts differently to the procedure, but for me, having unders is painful.
it would make more sense to get it done if you don’t mind being out of action for christmas though. if you family and friends know that you’d be spending it with that you may not be in the mood.. besides, you won’t be able to open your presents 😉
if you need anything, just give me a shout
claire
This is so useful thanks Claire!
It was the 22nd December I’ve been offered. No kids, but I do have dogs. I’m dithering because it would be great to have it done to start the new year, but also a shame to ruin my fav time of the year if I’m totally out of action!
So you are 4 days post op and would you say you feel good? Or just ‘ok’? What’s the pain level????? Thanks xx ps do you have pics up?
Hi Claire, I’m also 5 days post op and I had an uplift too. I find that if I sit in one place then the pain is almost non-existent. It only hurts my when I move, also I’m only taking one of the pain killers instead of two as I feel the pain is bearable. I also have a dog but I wouldn’t be able to walk him yet though. I’m staying at my mums house as I still can’t lift anything like the kettle or open the microwave etc.
I am really bloated too and I don’t have much of an appetite still eating a lot of soup and toast. I think I would personally do it on the 22nd but maybe I’ve been lucky as I haven’t found the pain to be that bad. The worst was probably the bumpy ride home. I have slept really well, I got a back rest from amazon, they do them in Argos too and I have v pillows. So sleeping hasn’t been a problem to me, so my mood is ok. I think if you did it the 22nd then by Xmas you should be ok to sit and watch films etc. Hope this helps xx
I would say go for it but you probably won’t be doing that much on Christmas Day.
I’m on day two and still sore and this was an exchange of implants as I had pips so wasn’t as much recovery. I had under the muscles both times, first time 290cc and as I’ve had two children and breast fed the surgeon recommended 350cc to close the gap this time. I am about 8.5 and 5ft4 stats at the moment x
I had 400cc unders on the 12th and I’m only now having had the banding taken off yesterday starting to feel normal! The first 3/4 days for me were really bad , but that being said other girls on here have been fine the next day- but unders do have a longer recovery time. I did have larger implants than your thinking about which ( not sure ) but this might make it more uncomfortable to begin with in my case.
Honestly If you want it I would say better to just go for it! But at the same time , if it was me I wouldnt have enjoyed Christmas ! maybe try and get an appointment straight after Christmas? So you get the best of both?
Hope this helps and doesn’t scare you off it!!
Thank you all so much- I’m going to see Mr Traynor on the 6th December so I’ll talk to him and see what he suggests too. All your help is great! This forum is so helpful xx
Hey. My surgery was 7/11/16 and I travelled 2hr 30mins after surgery and it was okay but that’s because it was mostly motorway, when we drove on other roads it was tough due to potholes and lots of bends / junctions / roundabouts etc.
I felt fine the day after my surgery and it was actually one of my best days pain wise.
I was out and about by day 4 and had halved my meds but I was still delicate.
I’ve spoken to loads of girls who had their op around the same time as mine and they all came off / reduced meds at the same time as I did. I think most people get over the worst of it in 4 days but there are some unlucky ones, who are the ones most likely to post about it and therefore the ones you hear about most.
Good luck. X
I’m able to move around and do more today so if it was Christmas Day today, it would have been fine for me..
I’d get it done, it’s a life changing operation, plus you’ll have your family around to help you out. Just make sure you relax for the first two days. I started rolling my shoulders to stimulate my pectoral muscle yesterday and feel so much more at ease today.
Let me know how you get on and what you decide xx
I had 500 cc under the muscle on the 5th October, and I absolutely love Christmas and if your recovery was anything like mine I would wait till after! But then again I had a chest infection a few days after so was in agony every time I coughed! I felt a bit better like at least a week after , don’t know if it was because of the chest infection or the pain from the operation, but I personally wouldn’t want to ruin Christmas as its my favourite time of the year! Xx
Hi
I’m 5 days post op. I was 32a and had 270cc unders to get a good B cup. I’ve had and breastfed 3 kids.
I think if the people you’ll be spending Christmas with, will know about your op, then definitely go for it!!! If they’re understanding, you’ll be able to just sit and relax and enjoy it all.
My first day was the worst in terms of pain. On the second day the pain wasn’t bad at all, but I was definitely really slow and wary of any movement – and also really tired! 5 days post op I’m definitely more mobile and confident moving my arms etc. Just be aware that if you have unders, you may need to wear a big fat compression binder so you can throw out any slinky/sexy Christmas outfit you have in mind! Xx
Hey, I have my op booked in for the 22nd of December so 3 days before Christmas! Everyone keeps telling me (friends and family) that in going to be poorly for Christmas. But I’d rather have 1 Christmas that I miss out on going out and having a tipple with my Christmas dinner than to have to wait even longer than the 3 years I already have. Just remember it is one Christmas and there is plenty more to come 🙂
I had my surgery abroad and managed to wander around a shopping centre whilst waiting for the airport trip for a good few hours (we did have coffee breaks but that was more cos I had anxiety), the flight home was 1 hour 20 minutes then an hour 15 minutes in the car.
I then rested the whole day after.
This was my 2nd op under the muscle but did include an uplift.
I would say if I was in your situation I would go for it. You can avoid taking the annual leave, you won’t be bed bound, you’ll just need to take it easy but that’ll be the case at any time.
Whatever you choose, good luck 🙂
Hey 🙂 I would advise you to go for it! I was out and about the day after my surgery, everyone is different. Also at xmas, you will have more family/friends available to help if you need it. No matter when you have it done your body will react in the same way so why delay 😛 Get them boobies! xx
I had 400cc unders same stats as u and I couldn’t do anything for 4 days…. no sleep and uncomfortable breast band did it for me…. if it was me I would wait till after Christmas…. as I can eat drink and be merry then…. I was so bloated and full of codiene I couldn’t imagine eating a Christmas dinner…. full unders are very different recovery to partials or overs if u were having partials or overs I would say go for it but unders nahhhh…. take it from me hahah and I went through labour with no pain relief’ I am in no way a baby about pain hahah xx
Again thanks to you all for advice. It’s amazing how differently it affects people! I’m going to see Mr Traynor on 6th Dec and see what he reckon… I’ll be honest with him that I want to enjoy Xmas but that I’m also quite good with pain and see what he said ????
Xx
What difference does it make to have them over the muscle and under the muscle is one a better result !! ? As I’m haveing consulatation in December , -also in your first consultation do they measure you up to see what’s suitable or is that on another consultation
Hi Demi, yes the surgeon will measure you for sizes etc then you’ll prob try on different bras with the PC to check them out. Depends on various reasons for going under or over muscle, but often under looks more natural takes longer to heal. Hope that helps you!
I am booked in in Preston for the exact same date. Boyf reckons I’m going to ruin my Christmas as I’ll be in pain, tired, uncomfortable etc. but like you I’d rather have all the time over the Xmas holidays to rest rather than having to book more time next year. I’m pretty much certain I’m going to go ahead with it. I know it won’t be easy but then my view it won’t be easy whenever I get it done but at least over Xmas all I’ll be doing is chilling out anyway x
