Thought id give you guys an insight onto how it went for me Sunday… not gonna sugar coat anything either just gonna be honest. I arrived at 9am (my admission time) nurse came and took me to my room shortly afterwards (she was lovely) . I was already aware I could be waiting up to 6 hours before i actually have the op done so I wasnt expecting to be rushed into theatre straight away lol. The nurse told me to put gown etc on and wee into a pot (pregnancy test) then i just chilled out and watched TV played on my phone . During the few hours i was waiting i had a visit from Dr Frarti who took pics and drew on me (he was very nice and informed me roughly how long id be waiting) and had a visit from the GA man he was very funny and friendly! Had a few visits from a couple of different nurses during the 4hours i was waiting.. weighed me,took my height etc asked few questions if i was allergic to anything. Nurse came and got me at about 1 15pm and i went to theatre.. all the staff were lovely and all i remember was laying down talking and waking up in recovery! Felt very tired when i woke up but no pain at all.. my blood pressure was very low so was kept in recovery for another hour for them to moniter me. They gave me sips of water and i was up in my room by 4 30pm.. felt very weak and chest felt very heavy.. was slightly painful to breathe in ,i was given painkillers and some tea and toast( was starving so happy to eat lol) i wasnt sick or anything but due to my blood pressure being very low when i got up to use the loo (needed assistance) i felt dizzy and drowsy. My boyfriend arrived around 6 30pm (i came up by myself as knew thered b alot of waiting around) and bought me crisps lol .. the nurses were great i just buzzed the remote whenever i needed anything. The nurse came to remove my drains at about 9pm (i had to wait a while due to blood pressure not increasing) im not gonna lie it was painful .. the left side came out within seconds but the right one got stuck as i was tense so took about 20seconds longer to take out! But the pain is bearable as it only lasts a matter of seconds. The doctor came and gave me my meds to go home with ..Finally left Fitzroy at 11pm and was home by midnight. I had to walk up 4 flights of stairs to get into my flat – not fun!! My V pillow has been amazing_ £7 from Argos! Highly recommend!

2 days in now and im resting (getting up and walking around frequently) more than happy to answer any questions from anyone…
All in all it was so worth it and id do it all again in a heartbeat…:) xxx
