hey was just wondering if anyone knew how quickly can you shower after a boob op? and when do you after go see the surgeon to check everythings ok? x

hey Lolly,

I had my check-up with the nurse at 7 days post op, and she gave me the go ahead for a shower, so i went straight home and had one :bigsmile: felt great. You just need to dry your scars with a hairdryer afterwards, and not use the towel on them. (In case of infection) I only had steri strips on my scars at the time, so i guess it could depend if they are bandaged up! I had my surgeon check-up at 7 weeks. x

so i might actually be able to have a shower tomorro nite jac!!! god i hope so! lol although i still cant lift my left arm very high x x

I am with you on that one sara, i am having mine removed tomorrow and i am really hoping she says i can take a shower now. My partner will have to wash my hair as my arms don’t go that high at the minute x x x

WELL YOU HAVE TO WASH YOUR BOTTOM HALF AND GENTLEY AROUND YOUR ARMS N UNDER ETC, BUT CANT GET YOUR DRESSINGS WT, SO YOU ARE LOOKING AROUND 2-3 WEEKS B4 YOU CAN HAVE A PROPER BATH AND SHOWER!!!

( oh really??? I wouldnt be able to raise my arms enough to wash my hair either…was hoping that after tomorro i may be able to have shower?? x x

hmmm Sara, you do have to keep the steri strips on for 4/5 days and are not suppose to get them too wet, so although you can shower, you have to be careful not to get them wet. I held a small towel over my boobs, and got my hubby to wash my hair for me in the shower (we have a nice big shower). It still felt great to have a shower tho’ even if it wasn’t a full one!

thanks hun, think i might have one and just do bottom half lol then wash hair over bath as norm, just until i know i’m totally safe!! x x

i was told about one wk ,at my first meeting,shallow bath,and to get someone to help wash your hair, but then everyone heels at differant rate,so keep your strips dry all the best,happy washing lol
