So I finally had my op today st Highgate hospital in London.
My admission time was 11:15 they took me to down at 1:15, back at my room just after 3.
The whole thing just went really smoothly so far. I was out of the hospital by half 6 and had a 2 hour drive home, expected everything to be much worse. The meds started to wear off I think and now I feel like I have rocks sawn in there not implants haha. I think is the best way to describe them at the moment.
I’m anxious about what tomorrow holds pain wise haha.
I try and attach a picture in my sports bra 🙂
Congratulations on your new boobie they look amazing Hun x
They look amazing!! Where did you get your bra from? x
Thank you girls. I’m happy with them so far :).
The bra is from M&S, it’s in their post surgery bra range, so you didn’t not pay VAT on this one. Costs just over £20 ????
I had my surgery yesterday and I was expecting today to be horrendous but as long as you keep up on your pain killers it’s not too bad, I mean obviously it’s uncomfortable but I find that I am okay when I am sitting still, I’m only in pain when I try get up and start walking, but today hasn’t been as horrendous as I imagined, happy new boobies day and I hope you have quick and painless healing:) xxx
Aww thanks @olivia1996, that’s when I feel the most pain when I’m trying to get up and I’m waddling around the house like a penguin haha but it’s not too bad so far. I hope it keeps going well for you as well. Xx
I’m not in as much pain today. It does get easier, I’m only one day ahead of you but the bruising seems to have gone down, incisions are a bit itchy today but other than that I feel a lot better. And aw thank you xx
I was at Highgate as well, I loved it there! They are all amazing, which nurses did you have looking after you?
Hi Hollie, I had 3 different ones but only remember Christine, I think the excitement and going under didn’t help my memory haha. It was just very efficient there, I didn’t expect to leave before like 10pm. Are you healing well? X
Strange question girls but do they put a catheter on for surgery I’m going for my operation tomoro really nervous xx
@jamelia012 I had one for the GA and some drips afterwards, it was removed shortly before I left the hospital. Being nervous is totally normal Hun but you will be fine believe me. Best of luck tomorrow and keep us updated x
Thank u!! So the catheter is the thing that makes u wee while under anaesthetic?? Isit painful ?
Also what are drains ? Will I be needing these aswell no one has mentioned them to me before.
I’m so nervous feel sick 🙁 xx
Ahh I get what you mean now. You don’t get a catheter for peeing during the surgery because it’s not a long one so don’t worry about that! I though you meant the small needle and tube they use to inject the aneastetic.
My surgeon doesn’t use drains but some use them to drain excess fluid from the boobs after the surgery. I heard people mentioning that they were really nervous about these but they are not actually as bad as they expected.
It’s totally normal to be nervous, I had to try my hardest to distract myself from the whole thing. Tomorrow will be here and over before you know it xx
Thanks hun that’s helped loads!! I’m so glad u don’t need a catheter for weeing. I don’t know why I’m so nervous! Hopefully it will go as quick and smoothly as yours did. Just feeling very emotional today think it’s cos iv had to drop my children to my parents to look after aswell and I’m not going to see them till tomoro night probs and I’m missing them already, sounds silly I know. U have made me feel better tho thank u 🙂 I will keep u posted xxxx
