Hey,
Has anyone had either labiaplasty or hoodectomy with dr ibrahiem? I’ve been to my consultation with him and he recommended both procedures together so just wondering about healing time / pain / what to expect etc?
I can’t see many recent posts about this as it’s a bit of an embarrassing topic! Just looking for advice and hopefully I’ll be able to provide some to others on here as I’m considering booking it in for end of this month! X
Hi Laura,
I am currently 14 days post op for labiaplasty and hoodectomy with Dr Ibraheim.
the procedure took about an hour under general anaesthetic. I felt no pain what so ever that day. I was asked to use the loo before being discharged which involved removing a dressing and quite a lot of blood. After that no bleeding at all.
I was given antibiotics to have for 3 days along with pain medication.
The day after there was stinging when going to the loo but nothing major. I honestly didn’t need the pain relief for the first week.
I took a week off work so I could stay off my feet as much as possible. The worst i felt was a pulling sensation but not pain.
Returning to work has been fine – loose clothing is still best – As my walk resembled a penguin for a couple of days! I did take pain relief as I sit for long hours at work and became a little sore.
I would also recommend a water bottle to wash with after using the toilet so not to affect the stitches. Along with drinking lots of water it can help relieve the sting when having a wee.
If you need any more info let me know – I’ll be glad to help. It’s been the best decision of my life xx
@sophiex23 hey! Sorry I’ve just seen this! Thank you so much for your advice. My op is on Friday ( 2 days to go!!) and I’m so nervous! There’s not many people on here to talk to about it so thank you!
What did you take with you on the day? So happy to know that the pain won’t be too bad
How are your results looking? Are you happy with them? And have there been any changes in sensitivity if you don’t mind me asking? As this was one of my main concerns! Xx
Hey Laura, no problem at all! I just took loose clothing and magazines to keep me occupied until I was discharged! I’m still healing at the moment with a couple of stitches remaining. The results so far I’m over the moon with and they can only get better as I’m only 3 weeks post op. haven’t noticed any change in sensitivity as of yet. I’m due to see dr Ibraheim in April at my 6 week mark but as far as I can see I’m healing really well. Hope it all goes well for you! Xx
Ah okay! Did you shave before it? There’s been no mention of it so not sure if it makes any difference ha!
Ah thank you! I’m so excited now, glad it’s all gone well for you too! Hopefully I’ll be happy with mine too!xx
Yes I did shave, the night before as I was booked in for morning surgery. I’m not sure if it makes a difference, nobody told me to however I read somewhere that it makes stitching easier! Wishing you well and let me know if I can help with anything else 🙂 xx
Hi, how much did you pay for both the labiaplasty and hoodectomy together. Booked in for a consultation with the surgeon. Are you all happy with the results?
@sophiex23 ah thank you! Just got my admission time for 8am so I’ll do it the day before. The nurse said it should make it more comfortable to shave.
Thank you I will do ???? Hope you’re doing well still xx
I thought I’d update this post for anyone looking into this surgery as I’m now 4 days post op.
I woke up with no pain at all and was fine with the anaesthetic (surprised at that as when I got my boobs done I was in such a panic I woke up crying!). This time I woke up as if I’d had a nap completely fine and chatty!
Mr ibrahiem made me feel very comfortable on the day and explained everything thoroughly. He also said that if I’m not happy with the results and it’s with something that he can change then they’ll do a revision op at no charge.
I was the first one in on that day so everything moved really quickly!! Filled in all the paper work and had to do a pregnancy test etc, then walked down to theatre and everyone was really friendly!
When I woke up I was taken back to my room (I think it was around an hour long for the surgery) and I couldn’t feel a thing! No pain whatsoever. Had a compression pad on the area so couldn’t see anything right away and it had to stay on for 2 hours
The nurses constantly came in to check blood pressure and temperature etc. Then took off the pad, and I had a bit of a nosey!
I now just have to wear loose clothing and a sanitary pad for a while. I’ve still not had a huge amount of pain. It’s swollen and bruised, more on one side than the other and is getting a little itchy which I suppose can only be a good thing!!
I was given ibuprofen, cocodamol and a numbing cream by the hospital and have only been using the cream a tiny bit, and the ibuprofen. Haven’t touched the cocodamol as it bungs you up pretty badly but tbh I haven’t needed it!! The cream seems to be controlling the itching, and the ibuprofen is keeping the swelling down a little. I haven’t been given any antibiotics and I was allowed to shower after 24 hours (warm not hot)
I’ve also been pouring water over the area after going to the toilet to keep it clean and just patting dry. This means no running on the area
The stitches are looking very neat and tiny!! Can barely tell anything has been done
As far as I can tell I’m happy with it, it looks much better than it did but won’t know properly until bruising and swelling goes down fully
My first post op check is in 2 days so hopefully they will say all is well!
I’ll update this post over the next few weeks for anyone looking into this procedure x
Glad it all went well @laurawight. This sounds exactly the same as my procedure/recovery. I’d recommend Mr Ibraheim to anyone considering this procedure. X
@sophiex23 thank you! It did go so well! Me too he was actually amazing! So far (even tough still swollen and bruised) I’m sooo happy with it!! The stitches are so uncomfortable though! I can’t wait till they dissolve xx
Thanks for posting about this girls! I’m having my operation in one months time. I can’t wait now. I am a gym instructor, do you think I’ll be able to get back into the gym two weeks after the operation? How long until you don’t have to wear a pad anymore? How’s it looking down there? Are you happy with the results?
Hi I’ve just had labiaplasty and hoodectomy and tightening all done at once with dr Ibraheim, I felt fine after the anaesthetic, I had an over night stay in the hospital, I felt okay all the time I was there, until I got home and I had seriously bad stomach ache, think all the pain killers bunged me up. The stomach ache was actually worse than the surgery I had done. Cried all day was very emotional, eventually the lachulose kicked in and after that I felt so much better, just feeling very sore down there, just keep pouring water on there everytime I go for a wee. And patting dry. It’s my 3rd day today.. Hopefully it will start calming down! Will keep you posted xx
Hi is Dr Ibrahiem situated at the London Mya Clinic?
Hi Laura, I have my labia plasty book in for July, just wanted to ask how quick were you seen and what time did you get discharged??? Hoping not to be waiting around too long!! Thank you xx
Hi I stayed in overnight because I had tightening aswell, think your day case you will have to wait a few hours to see how you come round after the anaesthetic probably! Xx hope all goes well for you x
@diamonds11 I seen him in Newcastle then surgery in Preston x
@myagirl1 sorry for the late reply I haven’t been on here. I was in the gym after 2 weeks but couldn’t do cardio or legs, just upper body. I waited till 6 weeks to do anything else
I stopped using a pad after a few days, only used it for that long due to it being more comfortable and stopping any rubbing
And yes very happy with the results! Looks very neat and can’t tell at all that anything has been done xx
@laurawight thank you for the reply! I’m hoping to be out as soon as that not too keen on hospitals! X
Hey, im having my op tomorrow and im so excited/nervous but cant wait for it to be done! What did you take with you, i have no idea what to pack. I just want to get there and have it done. Did they have to draw down there like they do before BA surgery? Im with Dr Ibraheim too. Does he go over whats going to be cut away etc?
Thanks 🙂 @laurawright

Hi ladies,
Just wondered if anyone has had this procedure under a local anaesthetic as opposed to general/knows if this is an option?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Anna, I didn’t want general anaesthetic and opted for local anaesthetic with sedation. Sedation is when you’re more in and out of sleep rather than completely unconscious like with general. Word of warning the local anaesthetic really stings, they have to inject it directly into where they’re going to cut, I was sort of asleep but the second he started the injections (they need to do both sides) I woke up immediately shouting ouch at everyone! The anaesthetist reacted straight away and gave me a higher dose of sedation so I remember nothing after that.
Having warned you about the pain… I would still make the same decision. I shared a room with a girl who had the same surgery immediately after me and once she came round she couldn’t stop shaking, itching and vomiting. There aren’t as many side effects with local anaesthetic/sedation so I got to go home 4hours after I woke up and I didn’t even feel nauseous. I would have been able to leave 2hours afterwards but I passed out when I tried to go to the toilet (nothing to do with anaesthetic, it was because I am useless in hospitals – managed to laugh it off with the nurses in the end, so embarrassing!). Hope this helps, the anaesthetist and surgeon will help you make the final call.
Ladies, does the tightening work? Would you say it has been restored to pre childbirth standard? I’m seriously the surgery after trying numerous expensive vaginal rejuvenation treatments that have not worked!
Hi I’m booked in for labiaplasty , hoodectomy and tightening ! Can you let me know how you are now and what recovery was like . I’m so excited !
