Ok so I am slightly worried as my incision looks weird at the end, I know the dark black thing is the stitch but that same area its like puffy and lumpy?!???
I have dissolvable stitches, I’m not sure if it’s anything to do with that?
I am post op day 12
Does anyone else have this? Is it ok or do I need to be worried?
I am going to send some photos to the nurse when I manage to get her contact details
x
That looks fine to me, I have a small black bit on one of mine. Not sure if it’s abit of dried blood or possibly the pen line they drew on, but I really wouldn’t worry unless it starts bleeding or fluid coming out. I’ve attached a pic of my incision but is only small on the left bit but made me wonder. Don’t worry! xx
Not sure that pic shows it well, but it’s defo darker than the other areas. Xx
Thank you lovely @aliced
the black bits on mine are the dissolvable stitches that haven’t yet dissolved in person you can see the end of the stitch coming out (I know not all surgeons use these but mine did)
but the area that’s worrying me is the far right where there are two round lumps, hopefully it’s fine.
How many days are you post op? xxx
Looks fine Eevie, they look great for 12 days post op, the dissolvable stitches can take ages to come away they will be disolved inside but go very dry on the outside and prickly they just fall off in little bits as time goes by, im 16 days post op your healing much better than me so try not to worry xxx
Maybe it’s just be your body trying to push that bit out then hun! Mine are dissolvable and my nurse said I could clip them (very carefully) with nail scissors if they were poking out and irritating me so maybe try that if you can see it popping out?
I’m 12 days now, that pic was 2 days ago and keep having to cover mine with tape which I get to change tonight. Get scared whenever I see the scars, reminds you that you’ve had a real surgery not just woke up with fab new boobs ha xxx
Thank you @giraffequeen for putting my mind at ease.
It’s just the weird lumps I am not sure what they are, they are two small lumps next to each other but maybe it’s just the skin pushing my stitches out or something?
They are not photographing very well !! xx
Thank you lovely @aliced ye the scars freak me out too! My surgeon used full strapping and then after the first week it all comes off including incision tape so I don’t have anything on mine and am wearing my sports bra.
It’s odd how different surgeons have different ways of doing things as I’ve seen many girls with tape on their incisions for weeks
xx
Honestly i had a c section nearly 4 years ago my incision was very small and neat until about the 7 day marker it had lumps and bumps everywhere it was just the stiches drying up and pockets of swelling and fluid etc ….behind the stitches i thought i was going to have a really unsightly scar from it but you literaly can’t see it whatsoever now, my stitches from that were awful after a couple of weeks they were still there and spiking in me when i sat down, my friend is a midwife and she removed them for me in the end but she did wait util she knew they were fully knitted inside, i wouldn’t reccomend removing them yourself yet you can give them a stern wipe to take dry excess off but don’t actualy pick at them, give them a few more days and im sure you will see changes in the skin around the incisions xxx
@giraffequeen thank you lovely that makes me feel much better.
I wouldn’t touch my stitches don’t worry I will leave them be and if in a week or so the stitches are still poking out I may get the nurse to trim them xxx
Im sure it will all be fine wishing you a speedy recovery Eevie xxx
@giraffequeen my nurse got back to me and said it looks fine but of course keep an eye on it so that’s good xxx
Great news, i actualy tried to find an image of my section scar to show you just to put your mind at rest but it’s on an old sim somewhere, was gonna include a pic of how it is now so you could see the difference, my friend was here lastnight and i was telling her about your incision worries and she said she can remember coming round here when my scar had started to lump up before she took the stitches out and i had burst into tears and said
‘This incision looks like its been done with a tin opener’
I can’t even remember that but i must have been really convinced at the time it would stay that way 🙂
Also she had an op on her neck and had a lump each end of the stitches that was only 2 year ago and you can’t see that at all now either so keep your spirits up xxx
@giraffequeen aww thank you so much lovely. It’s actually pretty amazing what the human body can endure and it’s ability to heal itself! I am feeling a lot better thanks to your replies too! xxx
@hannah299 Hi lovely, I understand as I freaked myself out completely over mine.
I messaged my PC for the nurses email address and then I sent some photos of my incisions to the nurse.
If you are worried at all perhaps do the same and explain what’s been going on.
My nurse put my mind at ease!
xx
I know I’ve emailed my nurse twice in the last couple days and she hasn’t gotten back to me so I’m not sure if she’s maybe off and I should text my PC? Just look so much worse than other girls I’ve seen I probably shouldn’t compare but i can’t help it! I didn’t expect to be left with two very dark scars is all 🙁
@hannah299 I would text your PC lovely or ring your clinic if you are worried.
There are usually multiple nurses as I have seen two different nurses on different occasions so your’s may not be in. I would initially text your PC and hopefully she can help you x
@hannah299 that’s ok lovely, I hope you get a reply from your PC and nurse and everything is fine 🙂 xx
@hannah299 Hi sweetie, I emailed my nusre too (I had two email addresses) and still had no reply since Sunday, so text my PC today and one of the nurses called me straight away and said she’s only just returned to work, so we may have the same nurse?
Maybe just text your PC and hopefully someone will call you straight back. Xx
