High blood pressure discovered at my Pre-Op !! HELP, this happened to anyone ?? Started by: Anonymous

    My Surgeon said I have high blood pressure at the pre-op today ! 164/99 !! how high ! never had high blood pressure in my life ?! can’t believe it strikes me right on the eve of booby time! gutted, I’ve got to get it down or this could jeopardise my Op on the 26th May ! well peeded off to say the least !! Anyone else had this issue ??

    Hi Jen, were you a bit anxious or nervous? This can increase your BP sometimes xx

    Had you been rushing to get there or was you nervous both can make blood pressure go up. I’m on blood pressure tablets, let’s say I’m a mature lady. I had to show that my blood pressure was stable doctors letter. Hope you get it sorted.

    Hi Jen,
    My BP was high at my pre-op, the nurse just confirmed my previous BP reading by contacting my GP. Everything was fine once my GO letter came back. Don’t worry, it was a major panic for me as I worried they would cancel my op but everything was fine.

    I’m a bit of a stress head generally. I think my anxiety was high today. Thanks for input ladies. I’m going to docs Wednesday, hope I can get it sorted for my Op?! I’ll be worried having sedation if it’s still high so it’s just going to make me a wreck. Xx

    @jen my blood pressure was high when went to pre-op it was a bit of mixed nerves and excitement and a bit stressful getting there due to traffic . So booked an appointment with my doctor at home and had my blood pressure taken and rang them with my reading and it was fine. Try relax a bit Hun everything is ok it’s natural to feel anxious of the unknown but don’t let it get in the way of the big day big hugs xxx

    Thanks Kirsty, that’s reassuring to know. I think I’m getting a bit worked up now to be honest as it’s getting nearer. I’m getting scared. I want the Op so much but wish I didn’t have to go through it all. Such a wimp I am. I think I’m realising the gravity of the situation. How serious it is and all those daunting forms to initial and sign today rattled me a bit. I’m going to doctors on Wednesday so I’m hoping it’s dropped. Xx

    Hi Chermaine. Yes I’m rushing about a lot lately. I think I’m suffering with anxiety. Got to try sort this out next few weeks xx
