Used the click through link from my PC to the finance company and they came back with 15% APR for myself and 18% for my hubby! ZOPA wouldn’t accept me and my hubby was 24%APR with them! We are down to see the bank on Saturday to apply for a joint loan, I don’t even feel hopeful about it and I am all out of suggestions! We have 2 little girls so it would take a very long time to save that kind of money 🙁 has anyone here taken out a loan with a higher APR? X
Try Tesco or sainsburys they’ve got good Apr at like 4% but even with not so good credit history it’s like 9.9% which is abit better than what you’ve been offered. Try the money supermarket eligibility checker though first, it’s kind of a soft search to see what you can get accepted for without harming your credit score xx
I’m sorry , I get your pickle but higher APR’s are use like 100% at best. Personally I really wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Good luck I hope you get somewhere with the bank. But saying that 15% really isn’t to bad. X
If it’s something you really want and you get accepted it’s really about the total amount payable with the interest vs the amount you borrow, if your happy with that amount over and above then go for it … Apr when calculated are such a nonsense anyway! Xx
Oh i’ve wanted this for just over 10 years now @laura but waited until i have children to see if my body would change – it didn’t but now i have 2 little ones to care for too! I’ve decided that this year is the year as i have just been putting it off due to being scared of the Anaesthetic .. the 15%APR with Norton (Via MYA) is an extra £2145 of interest…xx
@claire i said that to my hubby.. my Credit Card is around 18.9% if i remember rightly and i’ve had that about 2 years now but i dip in to it every now and again x
I’m in the same boat as you, it’s such a bummer isn’t it. O well I’ll keep thinking if it’s ment to be. X
I have no idea at the mo, unfortunately it’s looking like credit card. I don’t really use it. If i could get a loan I would, I think I’ll give the bank one last go first before I make my mind up. There’s no chance of saving that kind of money up for me. X
Ah ok… it’s shit isn’t it 🙁 did your bank previously say no and that’s why you’re going back to them?? X
Im in the same boat!! I cant get a loan… i have 2 small kiddies n getting married this year… my bf said after the wedding we will sort something out… he has a credit card and im going be saving every last spare bit i have and xmas money birthday money etc to get most of it and then put the rest on a 0%apr credit card…. its hard but if u can get a lowish apr card or loan id go 4 it…. good luck with the bank xx
Yer they said no but I think it was a new girl who was a little unsure what to do. But it is sh1t. How you getting on.x
I’m holding out until Saturday but don’t feel hopeful about it at all and reckon I will just call Norton back and go with the 15% but it’s only a conditional offer so not worried that if I go to the next stage they APR will go up or I will get declined… x
Good luck for Saturday, I really couldn’t tell about APR going up , sorry. Do hope you get a yes. X
Have you tried saving half the amount up?
Then apply for 10 months interest free over the next 10 months. That may be worth a shot. Also ask if your costs can be reduced, I KNOW this is possible. Don’t give up!
I have 2 little girls, youngest will be 1 on 29th of this month and the eldest was 2 on Valentine’s Day… They have my EVERTHING, I’ve been so down about them eating my dad’s and leaving me with b/c’s so I’ve booked in to have new ones in June. As a mum I think we need to be happy as well.
I hope you get it sorted. Xx
@Lisa thank you for your reply hun, unfortunately i wouldn’t be able to make those repayments over 10 months as that would be a lot! We know how much we can afford to pay back a month and the max we would go too without leaving ourselves short..My PC said she would see what she could do regarding a reduction in price but whenever i have emailed her back about it she never answers that question yet she said this in the first meeting? I’m back there today to have a consultation with Mr Netri so may ask her again xx
Well i hope she manages to sort something out for you lovie, let us know how you get on.
How did it go with meeting Netri?
xx
She reduced the price and Mr Netri upped my size and he was lovely! Looking at potentially 28th September if loan goes through xx
Ah that’s amazing to hear! I’m glad they helped out price wise too.
What size did he agree to? X
