    Hi girls.
i know everyone’s different, but at what point were you able to do daily tasks like brushing your teeth, making food and drinks and simple tasks like that that you take so much for granted?
I’ll have someone with me for the first 3 days after my Op, then I’ll be alone for around 8 hours a day after that for the following 4 days whilst off work.

Honestly it’s bizzare, theres things you can do that you thought you might not be able to and really ridiculous things that you can’t!
A big factor on recovery will depend on how much swelling you have and what implant placement you have, my friend had overs and was driving on day 5 i had unders and was in quite a degree of pain until 5 weeks!
On the night of my surgery i couldn’t rip a sheet of toilet paper off the toilet roll but i brushed my teeth so it really depends on what muscles your using and to what degree, i was changing nappies day 3 but couldnt unbuckle my seatbelt till week 4, if you don’t have children and can have heaps of rest in those first 3 days then i honestly think you will be fine by day 4 to make yoyrself a snack and run a bath etc…..you will sharp learn to cut corners on everything to bring less discomfort on, like using a 1 pint carton of milk for tea/coffee istead of a big 4 pint, fill a small jug of water to carry to the kettle rather than picking the kettle up etc…..if you try to do anything and you know it’s a struggle then leave it, listen to your body xxx

Thanks claudine. That’s really helpful! Guess I’ll just see how I go with recovery. I’m having undera so expecting to experience quite a bit of pain and discomfort afterwards, trying to prepare myself as much as poss! Xxx

    Hey,

The first 2 days I’d say I was useless my mum did everything for me.
Day 4 i was left alone and I got so restless and started to feel better like I could put my hair in a bun on the top of my head so I tried to get my nails done but after walking down my road it was a bit too much on my incisions i called and taxi and got one there and back.

I went for my post op check yesterday and I feel literally near enough perfect now. I’ve gone back to work a day early. I’m a week today aswell.

I think first 3 days with help the rest you should be fine. Just get someone to wash your hair for you before they leave haha

    Obviously everyone is different x

    Thanks Hollie.
Yeah it’s the whole washing my hair thing that’s stressing me out quite a bit haha. I’ll manage though.
I’ve noticed most people saying that it’s the first 3-4 days where you really need the help, then you do start to feel more with it and able to do the odd small thing yourself without over doing it.
I’ve got a whole week off work anyways so I’m hoping everything goes to plan! I have an office job anyways, so hopefully that’s a benefit for returning. X
